iPad Killer

As I read Mashable's report on what appears to be imminent release of the revolutionary Microsoft/Windows tablet, I can't help but wonder about the title. iPad Killer. In my opinion, this word is probably the most over used word in the entire technology industry. Basically any tablet that has been released ever since Apple outed the first iPad in 2010 have been termed the name "possible iPad killer" before they eventually flop. Here's what OEMs need to realize. Apple does what it does best. Go do something different.

Amazon Kindle Fire Released: My Take

After tons of rumors, Amazon finally met our expectations and announced their Amazon Kindle Fire, a 7" Android based tablet. Despite my love for Apple, I'm very seriously considering picking up one of these. Why? And will this be the iPad killer? Watch for my opinion!



Ultimately, I don't think Amazon's Fire is trying to compete with the iPad. With a $199 price tag, the Fire is intended to be a media consuming device. That is the reason I'm interested in it! Since the tablet market emerged, I have wanted something small, cheap and simple to read books, browse websites and watch streaming content on. The only thing that turns me off a bit is your need to be an Amazon Prime member, which requires a yearly fee. What do YOU think of the Fire?
