Piranha 3DD - Movie Review

First I have to say that I never saw one of the Piranha movies. And what I didn't do is searching for information about this movie with the idea in mind that I would be surprised. And sadly I was surprised.

A friend of mine told me that I shouldn't go to this movie because it has absolutely NO storyline. Heck, they were just telling us names of a few characters and actually, that was all. Every now and then someone dies thanks to deadly fish who extinct for over 2 million years. And the 'best' part, at the end of the movie an old man called and said: 'I was right, they are evolving. The piranhas can walk.' I couldn't be more disappointed.

Things I Really Didn't Like

- The fact that there is absolutely no storyline whatsoever.
- The piranhas can swim, great, five minutes later they can walk?!
- The end, a little boy is recording while a piranha is 'evolving' and starts walking. Then his mother came and said that he should stop recording. The next minute, the head of the little boy was bitten off by the evolved piranha and the mother was crying while covered in the blood of her son. That was the very end of the movie... Too bad if you ask me.

My opinion: Please, do not go to this movie.

Review: "The Art of Getting By"

I've definitely been more into movies now, and I've really been getting a larger collection of DVDs. This particular movie I happened to just finish about a half hour ago. My first statement, I loved it! It is definitely going up there with some of my top favorites. I love Emma Roberts and she did a fantastic job in this movie. I don't remember seeing any movies with Freddie Highmore so this was by far a good first impression for me. He did an excellent job with his character, I'd like to see more of his work. I liked the whole setting of the story, how it's located in the city and also how the main characters are 18. (Easy to relate to since I am also 18) I love a good love story and I have to say that this was very cute. Also I like how art was intergrated into the movie but very suddle. Overall I think that it is a great movie to sit down and watch and I am very satisfied with my purchase.

"Super 8" Movie Review

As a fan of Cloverfield and monster movies in general, I've been waiting on Super 8 since its announcement a few years ago. After seeing more trailers closer to release I was a bit weary of actually seeing the movie, for the simple fact that it seemed to stray from the original perceived path that I thought it was taking.

With that said, I decided that I would still see Super 8 through to the end and saw the movie on premier night.

I will say though that Super 8 is a very hard movie to review without giving anything away... it can be spoiler heavy if one actually goes into much detail. I shall just provide a review to the best of my ability without spoiling anything, so bear with me if it's not the best in the world.

The movie starts off good as you learn what is going on with the characters and delve into their individual personalities. The movie transitions from the opening to the kids shooting a zombie film, which leads to a train crash. I won't spoil any of the details, but this is the train crash seen in the trailer. The effects through this scene and the whole movie are excellent. However, the overuse of lens flare may be to some people's disliking.

From here on, the movie progresses as everyone is trying to figure out just what exactly is going on in the town. The characters are very good and the kids pull off their roles fantastically. You can really let the characters grow on you as you watch the movie, and the movie is not only serious in tone, but also very comedic at times.

There isn't a lot of action for most of the movie, mostly just suspense scenes, but by the end of the film there is plenty of action. Like Cloverfield or any other monster movie the monster isnt fully revealed until about an hour and a half into the movie. Overall the monster design doesn't disappoint; it's pretty awesome.

The overall feel of the movie definitely has the Spielberg and Abrams aura to it, so fans of their specific movies should feel right at home.In a time where movies like this are scarce, Super 8 is a breath of fresh air. I can't really say much else without spoiling the movie, so I will leave you with: "Watch Super 8, it's awesome!"

Movie Review: Young Frankenstein

I haven't seen any good new movies lately so I figured I would review an old movie.

Young Frankenstein, in my opinion, is one of the best comedies of all time. It's in black and white so some younger people may not enjoy it.

This movie is a parody of the Frankenstein film. After Dr. Frankenstein passes away, his reluctant grandson takes over the mansion only to discover his grandfather's findings and take over the "business." The movie has many hysterical performances, most notably Peter Boyle's and Marty Feldman's. The droll, yet gut-busting humor is an item to remember.

I reccomend this movie to people ages 14 and older as the younger ones may not enjoy the dark theme. But to all those old enough to understand this humor, a must see!

Rating: 8.5/10

Hey!

I'm new to David's social blog, I just want to briefly talk about what I'll be doing here.

First of all, I want to thank David and thecreativeone.tv sponsors for this being possible and giving me this fantastic opportunity.

Now, a little about myself, I am 16 years old and live in New Jersey. My number one hobbie is watching, studying, reviewing, and enjoying movies. I hope to be a film director/screenwriter when I grow up. What i will be doing here on thecreativeone.tv is reviewing and discussing movies, past or present. I'll review movies that recently came out or movies that came out twenty, thirty, fourty years ago!

Once again, i'd like to thank David and the sponsors. Thanks so much!
