While most of the music a DJ makes will be done on a full version, computer based software meant for mixes, not everything has to be so complicated. It can be good to have a smaller, more simple version with you everywhere you go to create mixes whenever an idea pops into your head. Think of it as a DJ's ready kit.
Traktor DJ is that program.
There is a long list of internet radio applications out there. But most don't seem to have a wide array of features that allow you to integrate it all onto multiple devices. Not until Short Wave, formerly RadioZ. It streams multiple radio stations, selected by you, onto your Mac in one place. Then gives you the chance to sync it up to listen on an iPhone or iPad.

I wanted to sound like Paris Hilton (it is an old inside joke), and I decided to try and Google some kind of soundboard. What I found was actually way better, and definitely unexpected. I discovered Dubbler, a great app that allows you to record up to 60 seconds of audio, then tweak it with their filters.
