Adobe Kills off Flash Support for Android

Ever since last year, Android owners could argue the fact that their phones provided an experience iOS users did not have - Adobe Flash. Until now; Adobe has officially announced that they will no longer support flash development for the Android platform and will look further toward HTML5 development. Adobe has stated that they will be, "shifting resources to support even greater investment in HTML5". Though, Adobe will no longer support native flash for Android, they will not be completely stepping out of the flash development game.

Our future work with Flash on mobile devices will be focused on enabling Flash developers to package native apps with Adobe AIR for all the major app stores. We will no longer adapt Flash Player for mobile devices to new browser, OS version or device configurations. Some of our source code licensees may opt to continue working on and releasing their own implementations. We will continue to support the current Android and PlayBook configurations with critical bug fixes and security updates.

In this video, I state my opinion on Adobe flash on mobile devices as well as HTML5 support. Feel free to leave a comment with your opinion on this move by Adobe.
