Review : SwitchEasy Nude Ultra Case for iPhone 5

I've been using the Nude Ultra Case from SwitchEasy for a few days now and I'm comfortable with writing a honest review about it.

Upon first feel, it was light and seriously thin. Just 1mm thin all the way round! Putting it on the iPhone was simple, just like most cases. I go for the buttons first method and it works fine.

The Best Case To Complement Your iPad Mini And SmartCover: SwitchEasy CoverBuddy For iPad Mini Review [UPDATED: Now With Pictures!]

Back when Apple released the officially sanctioned SmartCover to go along with their then-released iPad 2, it seemed like the perfect solution to protect your iPad while still maintaining the “Apple-edge” of your device: the sleek, clean and accessible look. However, since the backs of the iPad were made out of aluminum, as beautiful as it is, it soon became a magnet for scratches. Sure, it was nowhere as bad as the back of the iPod Touch (before the latest updated model), but it was destroying the external look of the iPad on a daily basis. The solution soon became clear: since the SmartCover only protects the front (screen-dominated) part of the device, something was needed to cover the backside too. Here comes the SwitchEasy CoverBuddy, a case that covers the back of your iPad Mini and is yet is still fully compatible with the SmartCover.

SwitchEasy Lux Case for iPhone 4/4S Review

So let's go ahead and start off with the good points and progress from there on. It's made out of real leather, and the feel of it is readily apparent. It's soft and incredibly smooth, unlike most of the other cases out there, which uses silicon or rubber mixed with some plastics and the like. This feels truly high-end, the kind of product quality you've come to expect and love when you buy something from SwitchEasy. Although I'm not too sure, but I believe the insides of the case is also made out of leather and therefore, it will not scratch the antenna band on your phone unlike many of the snap-on cases; and the only reason I'm making this comparison is because in many ways, this feels like a snap on case more than a slide-in case. On the very top, we have a tab to keep the phone from sliding out, which is just the right length; not too short, not too long. I actually love this open top a lot more than I expected I would since then, you can basically fit any 3.5mm headphone connector into the jack without worrying about recession and compatibility issues that has plagued many of the iPhone cases out there. Towards the right hand side, we don't have any buttons and/or cut outs, which is definitely nice to see. On the bottom, there is a huge cut out with no dividers whatsoever between the speakers and changing port/dock connector. To some, this may be an advantage if you're the kind who often docks their devices on a music player or charging stand. But for the most part, I feel like SwitchEasy could've done a better job covering the bottom from scratches. Although the cut out is massive, as you can see from the pictures, the phone is securely put in place and there was never once where I felt like the phone is going to slide out from the bottom and smash on to the ground. Flipping over to the left hand side, we've got too markings for the volume rockers that were blended into the case pretty well in terms of texture and colour. It is not quite obvious, but it is there when you need it.

Since this is a slide on case, there are times where the phone would move a little around the case and therefore, when you try to hit the volume up/down switches, you might miss it once or twice. Certainly not a huge deal or deal breaker, but just something to note. Moving upwards, we get a pretty large cut out for the mute switch, which there is more than ample space for you to comfortably place the tip of your finger on. Flipping over to the back, we've got a pretty recessed camera cut out with black painted around it, presumably to reduce the chances of a flashback when taking pictures with flash. Kudos to SwitchEasy for thinking about the finer details like that. Moving down, we've got nothing more than a slab of leather and on the bottom right, we've got a protruding SwitchEasy logo in silver. In my experience of using the case extensively for two weeks or so, the logo got pretty scratched up since it's the only thing that's not uniform with the surface of the case. It reminds me of the Nokia N8's camera. Anyway, once again, this is not a huge issue as you'd have to look pretty closely to distinguish the scratches from the logo itself. During the period of testing, I've found that the back side of the leather case can be pretty dirty and will pick dirt quite easily. Obviously, this issue can be solved by picking a darker colour of the case but if white's your thing, then this is something you should take note. The stitches and general construction of the case is top-notch and is definitely comparable with the other SwitchEasy cases out there.

For a quick minute or so, let's talk about what you get with the packaging. For that price, you get two high quality clear screen protectors together with a microfiber cloth, presumably to ease the installation, and that's it. Nothing more. Whereas for a much lower price of $19.99 when you buy the SwitchEasy Eclipse, you would get a video viewing stand, jack/dock connector protector and a few others together with the screen protectors itself, which is of much better value. The accessories included is nothing to lose sleep over, but it's something SwitchEasy should take note. Overall, I love this case and I believe that you will too. It's pretty affordable considering it's entirely made out of leather and it will definitely protect your iPhone safely should you drop it. The screen protectors included is also a really nice touch from SwitchEasy.

Final Score: 8.8/10

A huge thank you to Mandy from SwitchEasy for sending this case out for review.

Review: SwitchEasy Colors Case for iPhone 4/4S

Today we are going to be taking a look at a very interesting case, made by SwitchEasy. It’s called the “Colors” case designed for the iPhone 4/4S and it is named like that, of course because it comes in several fancy colors. Huge thanks to SwitchEasy for sending me this amazing product out for review. Now, let’s head up to the review.

In the box you’ll find the case itself, two antistatic screen protectors, two headphone jack and two USB import protectors, a microfiber cleaning cloth and user’s manual.

The case is made by rubber, which really makes the phone to feel very nice in the hand. I can easily say that, this case is the best one for using your iPhone as much hours as you want. It’s very soft.  It really has excellent cut-outs and covers many sensitive parts of the iPhone. Also, it comes in several fancy colors which are: Baby blue, baby pink, lilac, mint, stealth, milk, crimson, mican, lime, fuchsia, viola, saffron and turquoise. The one I am using has the turquoise color. For more info concerning the case’s color, visit SwitchEasy’s website.

Installation process is super easy; all you have to do is place the phone in the case and cover all the edges. Un-installation process is also very easy, all you have to do, is  first uninstall the headphone & connector protecting parts (if you have them installed) and then grab one of the edges of the case and take the iPhone out of it.

Now let’s take a look around the case.

All the top part is covered, and the lock button, except the headphone import, which the consumer can install the headphone jack protector if he/she wants to keep it away from dust and scratches.

The bottom part has two large cut-outs for the speaker, microphone and USB import but I will recommend you to also install the connector protector for ultimate protection.

On the front the case covers the whole white area below the screen and it has a plastic “physical” home button, which actually is more functional than the real one. The case has also “lay on the table” design which means that if you leave your iPhone facing the ground the screen will not have any contact with it. For ultimate protection I really recommend you to install one of the screen protectors you are provided with.

Flip it over to the back, you’ll see that it is all covered by the case’s rubber material and it also has a large and deep cut-out for the camera and flash.

The left side of the phone is again protected, including the volume control, and it also has a small cut-out for the profile switcher button.

The right side of the case is all covered by the rubber material.

Now let’s take a look at the cases benefits and cons:

Benefits: Comes in many colors, quite protective, fantastic feel in the hand, makes the phone to look even more beautiful than it is, it comes with several accessories and it has a quite good price for its category.

Cons: The only con with that case is that it could be a bit thicker to offer a bit more protection. In case the iPhone fall of your hand and the ground is a road for example, the iPhone will definitely be scratched and possibly it will break.

Overall I give this case a 9.5/10, because it feels excellent in the hand, it protects the iPhone from getting scratched, it also gives to the iPhone a new stylish look and it comes with several extra accessories which offers the customer more protection for his/her device.

Review: SwitchEasy TRIM Case for iPhone 4/4S

Today we are going to be taking a look at a very interesting case, called Trim, made by SwitchEasy for the iPhone 4/4S. Before the review starts, I would like to give a huge thanks to SwitchEasy for sending me this fantastic case out for review.

First of all, I was really impressed with the content of the box. Except the case itself, SwitchEasy provides the customer with two anti-static screen protectors, two universal dock adapter, an amazing video stand, two headphone jack protectors, two connector protectors, a microfiber cleaning cloth, a squeegee and user's manual.

SwitchEasy this time, combined protection and beauty. This case makes your iPhone look even more beautiful with its amazing color and also it is absolutely protective.

Installation process was very easy. All you have to do is slide the phone from the top to the bottom. Make sure to cover all the edges. Uninstalling is a bit difficult, but that's good because there are no chances the case to take off the iPhone while dropping or on daily usage.

Now let's take a look at the case itself. On the top the case has a cover for the lock button and you can install also the headphone jack protector in order no dust to come in it and generally protect it.

On the left hand side the case has a large cutout for the profile switcher button, and it covers the two volume buttons.

The whole right side is protected and it also has SwitchEasy's logo.

The case also has two big cutouts for the microphone and speaker and the customer can also install the USB import protector, for fully protection.

Taking a look at the back you can clearly see that it is transparent in order the beautiful back of the iPhone to be visible. It also has a large and deep cut-out for the camera and flash. Also the back is made by a very hard material which is very protecting.

The case also has "lay on the table" design which means that if you leave your iPhone facing the ground the screen won't have any contact with it. For more protection I really do recommend you to install one of the screen protectors that you are provided with the case.

Now let's take a look at the benefits and cons of the case itself.

Benefits: It provides the user with fully protection, the case feels very nice in the hand, it does give a very beautiful look to the device and it gives you full access to all the buttons and imports. Also it comes in several colors such as black, red, orange, yellow, purple. The one I am using is the blue version.

Cons: The only con with that case is that sometimes it drops the Wi-Fi and 3G signal.

Overall I give this case a 9.8/10, because it gives the iPhone fully protection and an amazing new look. Up to now it's my favorite case.
