Mugen iPhone 5/5S 4200mAh Extended Battery Case Review

The iPhone 5 is getting a little old now and if you're like me, you have noticed your battery has started to suffer massively. Gone are the days of charging over night and having enough juice for the entire day. I now find myself charging twice a day at home or up to four times on 4G for the day. In my case my iPhone 5 is used primarily for Whatsapp, social media and occasionally Binging something.
There are many solutions to this terrible battery problem, many of which I've tried. The Mugen battery case is my favourite at the moment.

Let's start with a brief description. The case comes in black with two different textured finishes. On the bottom there's a Micro-USB port, four blue LED lights and a small circular button. If you short press the button the LEDs will show you how much life is in the battery, long pressing the button will begin charging your iPhone. The back of the case has a rather large “stepped” hole for the camera, this helps with stopping flash glare. There's also a small Mugen logo. The front of the case has a smaller logo at the bottom and very good sized cut-outs for the microphone and speaker. The left side has all the buttons you'd expect and an actual switch built in to the case that controls the switch on the iPhone for muting sounds. Now on to the size. What bulk will this add on to your phone? Well, a lot... I personally don't mind but when I first put it on my iPhone I was astonished. It triples the thickness, probably weights quadruple the iPhone. I like it though, it doesn't feel like I'm going to break it, it adds some sturdiness to an already pretty solid phone.

Now for my cons of the case.

I don't particularly like that there's two different finishes on the case, there's a nice rubbery plastic on the back where it protrudes out but the front and a third of the sides are a somewhat poorly finished black plastic. There's noticeable pitting and marks out the box. I would have liked to have seen the whole case covered in the black rubbery plastic.
The included charging cable isn't very long. If I had to guess, probably half a metre. Cables are dirt cheap these days, why not throw in a one to two metre one.

Even though I like the rubber plastic, it does get pretty messy. I get quite sweaty hands in the warm and it really shows on this case, it is really easy to clean though. Not a big deal but something to look out for.

My pros for this case are.

First point and the whole reason for getting one is the amazing battery life. You can get at least 3 full charges out of this case. I only have to charge the case and phone to 100% every two days.

It comes with a really good little extension for your headphones because the case adds about 1cm to the bottom of the phone so most headphones may not fit. It's a nice touch that Mugen thought of this.

The build quality is great, it's a strong feeling case and has a nice weight to it. The shiny plastic looks cheap but other than that it's great!

All buttons work well, they line up perfectly and have never had any problems.

Overall this case is really great, I'll be using it as long as I have the iPhone now. I couldn't recommend it more if your iPhone battery is starting to degrade. It's the best solution I've had the pleasure of using. It saves you carrying about an external battery which I was doing for a while.

BookBook iPhone 5 Cover (Vintage Brown) Photo Review

BookBook iPhone 5 Cover sports a stylish look and lots of functionality. It will keep your device safe while giving you more flexibility.

The only downside for me was that it makes it a bit slower to pick up your phone. Also I am really missing my phone feel in the hand.

Overall I loved it!

Review: SwitchEasy Colors Case for iPhone 4/4S

Today we are going to be taking a look at a very interesting case, made by SwitchEasy. It’s called the “Colors” case designed for the iPhone 4/4S and it is named like that, of course because it comes in several fancy colors. Huge thanks to SwitchEasy for sending me this amazing product out for review. Now, let’s head up to the review.

In the box you’ll find the case itself, two antistatic screen protectors, two headphone jack and two USB import protectors, a microfiber cleaning cloth and user’s manual.

The case is made by rubber, which really makes the phone to feel very nice in the hand. I can easily say that, this case is the best one for using your iPhone as much hours as you want. It’s very soft.  It really has excellent cut-outs and covers many sensitive parts of the iPhone. Also, it comes in several fancy colors which are: Baby blue, baby pink, lilac, mint, stealth, milk, crimson, mican, lime, fuchsia, viola, saffron and turquoise. The one I am using has the turquoise color. For more info concerning the case’s color, visit SwitchEasy’s website.

Installation process is super easy; all you have to do is place the phone in the case and cover all the edges. Un-installation process is also very easy, all you have to do, is  first uninstall the headphone & connector protecting parts (if you have them installed) and then grab one of the edges of the case and take the iPhone out of it.

Now let’s take a look around the case.

All the top part is covered, and the lock button, except the headphone import, which the consumer can install the headphone jack protector if he/she wants to keep it away from dust and scratches.

The bottom part has two large cut-outs for the speaker, microphone and USB import but I will recommend you to also install the connector protector for ultimate protection.

On the front the case covers the whole white area below the screen and it has a plastic “physical” home button, which actually is more functional than the real one. The case has also “lay on the table” design which means that if you leave your iPhone facing the ground the screen will not have any contact with it. For ultimate protection I really recommend you to install one of the screen protectors you are provided with.

Flip it over to the back, you’ll see that it is all covered by the case’s rubber material and it also has a large and deep cut-out for the camera and flash.

The left side of the phone is again protected, including the volume control, and it also has a small cut-out for the profile switcher button.

The right side of the case is all covered by the rubber material.

Now let’s take a look at the cases benefits and cons:

Benefits: Comes in many colors, quite protective, fantastic feel in the hand, makes the phone to look even more beautiful than it is, it comes with several accessories and it has a quite good price for its category.

Cons: The only con with that case is that it could be a bit thicker to offer a bit more protection. In case the iPhone fall of your hand and the ground is a road for example, the iPhone will definitely be scratched and possibly it will break.

Overall I give this case a 9.5/10, because it feels excellent in the hand, it protects the iPhone from getting scratched, it also gives to the iPhone a new stylish look and it comes with several extra accessories which offers the customer more protection for his/her device.

Review: Frosted LCD Screen Protector for iPod touch 4G

Today we are going to be taking a look at one of my favorite screen protectors for the iPod touch 4G. This product is made by BudgetGadgets, which I really want to thank for sending me this amazing product out for review. So after using this product for a month let’s see it’s full and honest review.

In the box you’ll find the screen protector itself and a cleaning cloth. However I wish that the box was including a squeeze also.

The screen protector has two large cut outs for the front facing camera and the home button, which is something I really do like because in case you don’t install it exactly right, you’ll still not have any issues using the home button and the camera. It also has solution in it, which allows you to re-install the screen protector as many times as you want.

Installation process is super easy all you have to do is place the screen protector from the top to the bottom and based on the two cutouts, install it properly. After installing you’ll not have many bubbles, which you can remove them with a credit card by sliding on them with a bit pressure. When I installed the screen protector I did have five bubbles. I removed four of them in a minute and the last one couldn’t be removed because it had a dust particle under the protector.

This screen protector is a bit thicker than the usual ones, which makes it really protecting. You’ll not face any problems installing cases, using your iPod, or even when you leave the iPod facing the ground.

Now let’s take a look at the benefits and cons of the product.

Benefits: Easy installation process, very protecting, with the screen protector on you can install every case you want, the user have the option to re-install the screen protector as many times he/she wants, it has two large cut outs for the front camera and home button which gives you full access to both of them, the user can easily remove the bubbles and it has a very affordable price.

Cons: The box could include a squeeze to help the customer remove the bubbles easier, but it’s not a big deal since the customer can use a credit card or a piece of cardboard to remove them.

Overall I give this product a 10/10 rating because it really has everything that a screen protector needs to have and it costs only 1$ with free shipping worldwide!

Review: BudgetGadgets Plastic Grid Hard Case Cover for iPod touch 4G

Today we are going to be taking a look at an iPod touch 4G case send out from BudgetGadgets. Before the review starts, I want to thanks Lilly from BudgetGadgets for sending me this product out for review.

The case is made by plastic and it covers the whole back and the sides. On the back as you can see it has many small holes in order the device not to overheat, and it also gives it a nice new look.

Installation process is super easy all you have to do is place your iPod and push it a bit. Uninstalling is again very easy all you have to do is push one of the edges of the case and take the iPod out.

Now, let's take a look around the case.

The top part of the case gives you full access to the lock button.

The bottom part of the case gives you full access to the speaker, USB import and headphones import.

The left side of the case provides you with a big cutout for the two volume buttons.

The right side of the case covers all the iPod.

In the back of the case you can clearly see that it does have a very nice cutout for the camera and microphone and many small holes in order the iPod not to overheat and to have a nice new look.

Now, let's take a look at the benefits and the cons of the case.

Benefits: It has access to all the buttons, imports and cameras. It feels very solid in the hand. It makes the iPod look very beautiful and it has small holes in order the iPod not to overheat. Also it comes in several fancy colors such as red, purple, pink, light blue B, white, green, peachblow, deep blue, black, orange and yellow.

Cons: It doesn't have "Lay on the table" design, which means if you leave the iPod facing the surface, the screen will have contact with it and it might get scratched. So I recommend you to buy a screen protector with this case.

Overall I give this case a 9.5/10 because it does have a lot of benefits, an amazing price and only one con. I recommend this case ONLY for minor scratches protection (on the back).
