Apple’s Disappearing Button Patent

Obviously Apple has some of the best touchscreen capabilities in the market. Recently, Apple’s latest patent is for pressure sensitive touch screen materials that would be integrated right into the laptop itself. The patent application says it would be used to eliminate hardware buttons already in use. With the release of the iPod shuffle a few months ago, it seems like Apple is raging a war on buttons, so it makes sense they would like to bring their touchscreen components to their computer line.

I think this kind of technology would be good for media controls, such as play/pause and a volume slider to control music playback. I'm really interested to see what Apple does with this technology and how it interacts with their products.

Apple's Latest Creation: iPad

January 27, 2010 is the day Apple have enchanted the technology world. The rumoured touch screen device, which fills the gap between the iPhone and the Macbook has been given the name of, iPad. This 9.7" IPS LCD touchscreen device has the base memory of 16GB going up to an amazing 64GB, now for a mobile device, you may be thinking this is small, but it's not for a device that is only half an inch thick.

The iPad is similar to a digital photo frame, but this a laptop, with only one side, a touchscreen keyboard which is almost life like and the usual specs from Apple as well as topping it off with apps available from the App Store.

You may be now asking, "Isn't this a big iPod Touch?" Well, does a iPod Touch come with 3G? No! Does it offer you a mobile mac experience, without cluttering up your desk or space? Yes! Is it wireless? Yes! With Bluetooth 2.1 and 802.11n wifi, don't think you'll be lost in communication.

The iPad is available in 60days (90 days for the 3G model) and starts at $499 (£300 for 16GB) $599 (£370 for 32GB) and $699 (£432 for 64GB). 3G Pricing; starting at $629 (£388 for 16GB) $729 (£450 for 32GB) and $829 (£512 for 64GB)
