Apple gets rid of 5,000 apps from the App Store!

Many app developers might be receiving an email from Apple as the company are taking down over 5,000 different applications from the app store!

Quite a few developers may of already had an email from Apple claiming that their App wasn’t following guidelines that the App store and is no longer suitable to be download by iPhone and iPod Touch users!

The creator of the app Wobble iBoobs, Jonathon Atherton, claimed to of recieved the following email from Apple:

The App Store continues to evolve, and as such, we are constantly refining our guidelines. Your application, Wobble iBoobs (Premium Uncensored), contains content that we had originally believed to be suitable for distribution. However, we have recently received numerous complaints from our customers about this type of content, and have changed our guidelines appropriately.

We have decided to remove any overtly sexual content from the App Store, which includes your application.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter. If you believe you can make the necessary changes so that Wobble iBoobs (Premium Uncensored) complies with our recent changes, we encourage you to do so and resubmit for review.

Sincerely,
iPhone App Review

The app above had been very popular before it was taken down. It had earned the developer $260,000 in it’s time on the App store!

Insiders have been thinking that Apple are cleaning up the App Store in time for the release Apple’s latest creation, the iPad, which Apple doesn’t really want to be associated with explicit content. Albeit, Apple are yet to take down the Playboy app as well as many others that could be considered to have adult themes!

Are Apple taking things to far? Perhaps Apple should introduce parental controls onto iPhones and iPod Touchs, not just iTunes.

You know why apple got complaints? Because I bet that app didn't actually have boobs in it because of apple's old guildlines.

Good. That crap doesn't need to be on there! I wouldn't want any kid using an iPod to stumble upon an app like that, or anyone for that matter!!!
