My Journey to the Mac
Ever since about 2007, when they released the iPhone, thats when it began. At that point it was my goal just to get an iPhone. Then I started to look and found the Mac. Since that day, its been my goal to get a Mac. Being an Apple follower for a few years, I finally made the switch on June 15, 2011.
Now, being a proud owner of a 2011 MacBook Pro 13”, I am here to give you my story of my Mac journey.
When I started to do my research on swithcing to Mac, I knew I wanted a MacBook. At the time, they had either the MacBook or the MacBook Pro. I knew the Pro wouldnt suit me for two reasons. One was price, and the other was functionality. At the time the Pro was about $1500-$1700. That was not in my budget. So I looked into the MacBook. After waiting, and saving, they released the Aluminum MacBook. When I saw that, I was one happy camper. I was about three-quarters of the way to my new MacBook at the time so I figured that would be the one I would get. Little did I know, I would no longer want to get the Mac. Instead I took my money and bought an iPhone.
So after a few years of waiting, I got myself a MacBook Pro as my High School graduation gift.
I purchased the base model of the MacBook pro which includes a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 Processor, 4 GB of 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM, an Intel HD 3000 graphics card, and a 320 GB HDD. I am currently running Mac OS X Lion. When I purchased it, it was running Snow Leopard. Being an Apple follower for the years leading up to the switch, I was a frequent at my local Apple store so I was very familiar with the OS. It was a new, yet simple thing to learn. Without ever owning a Mac before, I was able to navigate my way, as well as help people with their questions. So I was glad when Lion was released, because it would give me an oppurtunity to get to relearn the OS. It too was very easy to navigate, and master.
Overall, as a recent switcher to the Apple side of the Mac vs. Pc battle, I couldnt be happier. Even though I was already knowledgeable on what I was getting, it was still an awesome experience opening the box to my new MacBook Pro that I have been waiting for, for years. My closing words to anyone who may be on the fence about switching, I will tell you two words. Do it. Switching to the Mac has made me a user for life. I am currently trying to persuade my parents to switch, and it looks good! So, Thank You for reading, and if you have a story you would like to share, leave a comment!
