New Jersey Hospital to Add Solar Panels
Since I am a fellow New Jersey resident, this was something that I just HAD to blog about. This upcoming October, St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ will begin construction to install 10,000 solar panels throughout the campus.
New Jersey isn’t known for having many solar paneled hospitals but there are a few panels on certain locations. The 2.1-megawatt project will go on the record boards as the largest solar panel installation of any hospital in the state of New Jersey. Of course, this could eventually be broken on record in years to come.
Once the project is complete, it will include two rooftop installations, three parking lots with solar carports, and a solar carport on the roof of an existing parking garage. When all said is done, the hospital should save up to $10 million in energy costs within the next 25 years.
25 years sounds like a long time to save $10 million but if you think about it, $10 million is a lot of money. Break that down into a yearly savings and you can see just how much they are really saving. I promise you that you’ll be blown away. If I could afford all solar panels, you better believe that my house would be decked out in solar panels!

I personally believe solar power is definitely the way forward, after having solar panels installed on my roof I have really been able to appreciate the value of this technology and I simply think everyone should be using solar power now.
