Using an iPod touch for Vlogging

Apple launched the iPod touch 5th generation in late 2012, bringing a new amazing front facing camera. It's a 720p FaceTime camera. There are a lot of small cameras good for vlogs, but is the iPod touch 5G a good choice?

If you want to record yourself and post on YouTube, you need a good camera. Canon have cheap ones that record in high definition. But as we know, they are cameras. Just cameras. You will need a computer to transfer, edit and upload your media. That's why I would prefer an iPod. With the Apple device you'll be able to see the display while recording yourself, edit your footage using iMovie for iOS and upload using YouTube Capture app. It's very easy to work this way.

The iPod touch 5th generation is extremely thin. With the iPod touch you have all features of a high quality media player - such as browsing, games, music, videos.

In the back of the device a 5 megapixels iSight camera is located, that records video in 1080p. Features like face detection, automatic focus and exposure and LED flash are important for vlogging and the iPod Touch have all of them. Audio is one of the secrets of vlogs, and the microphone on the iPod is not that great in noisy places.

On the App Store, you can download a lot of cool applications that can help you with your videos. The device is available in six colors starting at US$ 299 for the 32 GB model, which is sufficient for vlogs. It comes with a lightning connector (for charging and syncing), the brand new EarPods and Apple loop. So if you are looking for a camera to record yourself and put it online, the iPod Touch is a good choice.
