[Review] Avantree 'Pluto Air' Hybrid Bluetooth Speaker

I have always been impressed by these little Bluetooth speakers, and the Pluto Air from Avantree is no exception.

I must thank Avantree for sending this out for review.

When you receive the product you are greeted to this small, not so powerful looking speaker sitting in the box along with instructions, a 3.5mm audio cable, USB charging cable and a carrying pouch, the device to me didn't seem like much of a product. I instantly got it out and paired it up to my smartphone and my mind was changed. The music quality is a lot better than I had originally expected. There isn't much in terms of bass, but that is expected from such a small unit. The pairing was smooth and quick, and I managed to get the device to pair with my Mac and my phone effortlessly. I would say you get more quality through the 3.5mm cable, which may not be gold-plated, it still carries good quality.

Charging the device is quite simple, taking around six hours from flat to 100% charge. I didn't try charging the device via a mains outlet, this was via a USB port on my Mac, so I could imagine the device would take the same amount of time through a wall socket.

I would recommend this device to anyone who's looking for an ultra-portable, and quite loud Bluetooth enabled audio device that won't break the bank.
