Stumble Upon
Today we’re going to be looking at a free to use application from the Windows 8 app store called “Stumble Upon”. What this application does is keep track of all of your interests and brings up multiple websites and articles based on that interest. All of this is displayed within a good looking tile based environment. From here, if you find something you like or are interested in you can like and share the post to all of your social networking accounts with just a click of a button. Aside from that, the next best thing we can talk about it the tiles and things within the environment itself.
The tiles are sorted with a random amount of information ranging on all of the topics or interest you clicked on. There is a section where it discusses on what’s hot or rather, trending. For example I found an article that was trending explaining that Apple would have to switch to the more standard microUSB cables instead of their personal cables within the next 3 years. I found it interesting so I liked and shared the article. There is a way to sort through random articles by clicking on the category of your interest as well. When clicking on programming for example, I was brought to several websites that went on the topic of coding in HTML and CSS or a lab for python on code academy. There is a lot to explore within your topic of interest.
Aside from these minor functions for the application, this app is great for keeping up with the news on a certain topic, or just to find something new. So if you’re in need of something to do or something to find within your interest level, give stumble upon a try. You never know what you might stumble upon. (I know a terrible pun.) So thank you for watching/reading.
