The Color Of 2015
Every year Pantone, New Jersey corporation, well known for their Pantone Matching System, declares the color of the year, for the coming year...
Interior designers all around the world have felt a big relief when, few months ago, Pantone revealed their color for 2015., a rich shade called "Marsala".
Maybe, the tones of that color have something to do with the fact that it was named after a wine, but Marsala is endlessly versatile when it comes to design.
Rich and royal, yet still warm and tempting, Marsala is a shade which can be easily used in the interior of your home, whether it's in small shots or in big doses.
We bring you small tips on how to introduce Marsala to your interior this year:
The walls in your home
Although interior designers wouldn't advise you to paint some walls using Radiant Orchid, the color of the Orchid, unless maybe in smaller shops, offices or kid rooms, Marsala is the total opposite.
It's a color that soothes the eye. You can find in nature, it's pleasant. Marsala can be used to paint the whole room, and it also goes along very well with other colors, so mixing and matching it is encouraged.
Pantone recommends Marsala to be combined with more neutral shades like warm beige tones, yellow, brown and green tones. It's excellently combines with traditional and classic interiors. For live, vibrant and modern effects, Marsala can be combined with green shades like turquoise or foggy blue with powdery shades.
Decorative objects
Next to the walls in your home, there are a lot of other ways to include Marsala in your ambiance. Pillows, bed sheets and other materials let you experiment with Marsala without fear and create a new level of wealth and textures in your interior which you can achieve with just one paint job. Another great way to introduce this color is to purchase window blinds in Marsala. It will do wonders for your space.
You can use carpets in this lovely warm shade or you can freshen up your walls with paintings with lots of Marsala.
Furniture in Marsala
Furniture is another way you can use Marsala in your space. Despite the new status of the color, Marsala is actually a very ancient color, so you don't have to worry about your furniture becoming obsolete.
But, like with any big investment in your home, make sure you buy furniture that you can picture in your home in the next ten years. You can choose a sofa, a corner couch, a table or coffee tables that you will use in your interior.
Marsala can look like an earth color, but a change in texture can completely change this feeling. If you combine it with pieces of high shine it gives a modern twist.
Kitchen appliances
Appliances are a great way to introduce a polished Marsala in your home. For example, try with kitchen appliances in colors like shiny cinnamon or dark red. Choose a microwave in this lovely shade, blenders or coffee machines, they will make your kitchen look fresh in no time.
If you go with Marsala, you will surely enjoy your interior.
