WWDC Overview
WWDC is an annual conference that is run by Apple in San Francisco. And like usual, Apple introduced one new version of their main product line. This was the iPhone's time to receive an update on WWDC. Here we will post a quick overview of what happened during WWDC, and then my personal thoughts about the event.
Steve Jobs walked on stage wearing his usual black shirt and blue jeans. He started the conference talking about the iPad, and giving us some numbers. He said that the iPad has sold over than 2 million units in 8 weeks. That's incredible for a device that many people used to hate and say it wouldn't be successful. Then he announced that iBooks could read PDF files. That's when the fun began, and Steve Jobs started talking about the iPhone. He presented the "brand new" iPhone 4, and highlighted the 9 main features. These features were:
- The brand new design
- Retina display
- New processor (Apple A4 Chip)
- Gyroscope
- Better Camera (With 720p video recording)
- iBooks
- iAds
- FaceTime (Video calling for Apple)
- iOS 4 (With many new features)
In my opinion, it was a great event, especially for the developers that can now use these great new features to produce various apps. So concluding, the new iPhone 4 is not revolutionary, but it changes everything... All over again.
