Weekly App Giveaway: Flash Drive (View/save with drag and drop/email documents)

Giveaway originally posted at http://www.jakeculpmedia.com/home/2010/10/15/this-weeks-app-giveaway-flash-drive-viewsave-with-drag-and-d.html

This weeks giveaway is very special as is this app.

Flash Drive is a file management solution for your iPhone and iPod Touch. It allows you to use your iPhone and iPod Touch as a Wi-Fi flash drive from any Windows or Mac computers. Flash Drive has powerfull built-in file viewer that can be used to view your documents on the go. You can also email files to friends and colleagues with Flash Drive's quick and easy Readdle Mail Servers.

Another great feature is that you can read books on the go from all different file formats. Their formats range from TXT to HTML files and FB2 to RTF files as well as your standard DOC and PDF documents. The app gets better when you can bookmark any place in the document or use automatic bookmark that Flash Drive places when you stop reading the document!

Here below are some other facts about Flash Drive:

- Password protection for your files
- Support for zip archives
- Fast scroll through large documents
- Powerful file management
- Fullscreen mode

I give this app a 4.5 out of 5. The reason being is that the price seems a bit high but if you need a app that can quickly and easily transfer your documents to your computer then this is a must-have-app!

Rules for Giveaway:

1. Follow @JakeCulp on Twitter

2. Tweet this message "Flash Drive App Giveaway for iPhone or iPad: RT and Follow @ for Entry. "

Fruit Ninja App Review (iPod touch)

Today I'm coming at you with an app review of Fruit Ninja for the iPod touch. Overall this is a very fun game and one I recommend for all iPod Touch and iPhone users. The developer of this application also made an iPad native application, which is $4.99. The iPod touch and iPhone application is $0.99 in the iTunes App Store.

The gameplay is very smooth. The graphics in this game are pretty great for an iDevice. I've played many games on my iPod touch in the past and the graphics were very bad. Another cool feature is the ability to post your scores to Twitter or Facebook, two social media websites that I use pretty regularly. I'm also not that into the star rating system for reviews, but I will say that Fruit Ninja is a definite buy. For full video coverage of the application please be sure to watch my video. If you have any ways I can improve, please be sure to leave feedback because I want to make videos you'd be passionate about being a follower of.

The Coolest Mac OS X Screensaver

Finding the perfect wallpaper is quite a difficult task, but the quest for the best screensaver is simple. Here I have the App Wall Screensaver, which simply is a screensaver compromised of apps. More specifically, it is based upon either the top free or paid app in the iTunes App Store. The screensaver gets live updates from the App Store feed and displays the app icons. If you are a geek as I am and most of the people on TekSocial, you will really enjoy this wallpaper. Below is a video demo of the screensaver in action:

Microsoft releases official Windows Live Messenger app for iPod touch & iPhone

The Official WLM App now available in the Apple Store

If you have checked the App Store today you will have noticed Microsoft have entered with their official Windows Live Messenger application. There have been several unofficial applications such as eBuddy and Pidgin, to name a couple.

But will this really become a successful application? What's the point when you have all these others which can handle multiple Facebook, AIM and MSN accounts - all at the same time?

What do you think about the official application? Let me know in the comments.
