The iPad has Changed the World

If you are old enough to remember the Mac in 1984, you remeber how revolutionary the GUI was. Although Xerox invented it, Apple took it to the next level; pioneering a new era in computing. Whether or not you prefer Mac over PC, or even if you hate the Mac, you have to admit it simplified computing for all. And as Apple continues to simplify the computer for the average user, the hard core PC user says that Macs are for "fags" and "retards."

Apple is simplifying the computer, as they did in 1984. I ask you Mac haters; if simifying the computer makes Macs "faggy," then do you consider the GUI that simplified the computer, and replaced command line, "faggy" as well?

Well, Apple took a big leap. Today, the iPad was released to the world. It may seem like a big iPhone, but it's a stepping stone to the future of computing. The iPad will simplify computing, and make it more powerful. It is to the Mac what the Mac was to the Apple][.

It will change things. Because as the iPad becomes more like a computer, and gains more features, becoming simpler in the process, it'll csnibalize your need for a computer. Unless you write programs, and professionally edit video, you may get rid of your computer all together. But eventually, movie editing may come to an iPad-like device. You'd be able to directly handle your video clips. And programming of the future may become totally object oriented, and come to an iPad-like device as well. Slowly but surely, the computer as we know it will disappear... as command line did.

Because being able to just reach out and touch your work... to be able to interact with it that intimately is the true innovation of the iPad.

Before you know it, we'll be writing apps and editing movies on an iPad like device.

In 1984, it was "Welcome to Macintosh."

In 2010,

I welcome you to iPad. Mr. Jobs, you have successfully put a ding into the universe.

iPad from the UK’s perspective

Yesterday the Apple iPad was launched officially in the U.S. However we over here in the UK were sitting at our computer desk drooling over all the iPad news and videos. So many people in the UK who have watched the iPad videos are now eagerly awaiting the release in the UK. Don’t get me wrong this looks like a great device but it does have its down sides but that is for a whole other post, Some people including myself were a bit skeptical at first when it was announced by the man him self Steve Jobs. But now we have seen what apps are available on it and what they can make it do and the iPads intuitive user interface most of us who were not sure at first have now changed our minds about it. I think the iPad is going to be another huge step forward in the mobile gaming market like the iPhone was when they launched the app store. I will definitely be heading to my local Apple store as soon as it is launched in the UK to have a play with one of them, But i don’t think i will be buying one anytime soon.

My Apple iPad Launch Thoughts

Today, Apple has shipped out thousands of brand new iPads to users worldwide. Hundreds of unboxings and app reviews have already been uploaded to YouTube and various other video sharing networks - in fact, they filled my subscriptions box completely! Some people arrived at their local Apple store hours before the official launch of the iPad, waiting hours to get this piece of technology into the palm of their hands and be one of the first, to turn that tablet on. Various people such as Chris Pirillo have done unboxings of this gadget and are receiving thousands of new views from doing so. Household Hacker even got two of them in one box! (I wish I was him! :P)

I predict that this iPad launch will be one of the biggest launches of Apples history. In the next few months, this gadget will sell thousands more units and generate thousands of dollars of income in the Apple App Store. Soon, thousands of new iPad apps will venture out into the App Store too, allowing iPad users to use their iPad more effectively and efficiently.

The iPad, may just become one of those "required" devices that an average consumer MUST have in their hands.

My Thoughts? Well, I think this launch has been an EXTREMELY successful one for Apple, like I said above in the blog post, it will continue to rise in profits over the next months and we will see many new features and fixes coming into it soon.

Thanks for reading this blog post, hope you enjoyed it and be sure to post a comment telling me about what YOU think about the iPad launch.
