Apple, Inc. - What A History!

Three college drops outs in a garage. Two had worked for Atari and one had worked for Hewlett-Packard. All were hell-bent on creating a computer that individuals could use in their homes.

The two Steve’s (Jobs and Wozniak) finally crafted their first unit and founded Apple Computer Company in 1967. The third partner want “out” and sold his share in the company back to Jobs and Wozniak. He probably had a lot of regrets in the ensuring years!

Apple's Death Knell - Not Ready To Sound Just Yet

Many pundits are willing to on record as saying that, with the death of founder Steve Jobs, Apple, Inc. has lost its drive, its ability to innovate, and is doomed to a slow, certain death. 

That is simply not so.

It is true that Apple’s profits have stagnated and they have not released any new products in the last three years, since the advent of the iPad.  It is also true that the company and the new CEO have struggled with the perceptions of many, that their latest releases have only been “window dressing,” simple changes to previous ideas.  Where is the innovation that made Apple what it is?  Where is the spark, the “eye of the tiger,” the drive that took the company from relative obscurity to being the second-most profitable company in the world?

My Written Review: 2011 Apple MacBook Air 13"

The new 2011 MacBook Air 13.3" is truly a stunning machine with an awesome 1.7GHz duel-core Intel Core i5 processor and 4GB of RAM packed inside this beast. Surely this is the perfect notebook for students who want something which weighs in at just 2.96 pounds and is less than an inch thick!

In this article, I am going to cover the good, the bad and what can be improved, followed by me awarding it a score out of 10.

Starting with the Good - 

Apple's MacBook Air 13.3" LED-backlit widescreen has got to have been the nicest screen I have ever looked at, the resolution of the screen is 1440x900 PPI (Pixels Per Inch). The colours are so vibrant and films look amazing on screen, too.

The MacBook Air 13.3" is as beautifully thin as ever, at it thickest end it measures 17mm thick and it's thinnest point is only 3mm thick which is incredible!

The 2011 MacBook Air 13.3" comes standard with a 1.7GHz, dual-core Intel Core i5 processor with 4GB of RAM. The notebook also built in flash storage tucked inside its aluminium unibody chassis, this is great for students who want tasks completed quick such as word processing and music, photo and video editing. I am able to get roughly 6 and a half hours of battery life out of the MacBook Air and is capable of staying in standby mode for 30 days without dying from loss of battery.

The Bad -

I am a little disappointed that there is still only 2 USB ports on the MacBook Air 2011, even if apple added just one more USB port would be a wonderful add-on. I am also a little unhappy that there is no USB 3.0 port to be found on the notebook, this would be another huge key selling point for the MacBook Air. The third thing I am disappointed about is the low resolution built-in FaceTime camera. Apart from that, the laptop is great.

Room for improvement? - 

As always, nothing is perfect. In the future, I would like to see Apple introduce a FaceTime HD camera (featured in the MacBook Pro's and iMac's). As the MacBook Air's FaceTime Camera performs horribly in when in low-light. I would greatly appreciate more flash storage inside this elegant machine, aswell.

What I Would Like to See Apple Introduce in 2012

2012 is said to be a "Big year" for technology, especially Apple. There are certainly lot's of rumors floating around the web. In this article, I am going to have my say on what I'd like to see Apple introduce this year (2012).

1. - Apple HDTV:

One of the biggest rumors of this year is that Apple is to announce an all new Apple HDTV. Some sources say that it will be exceptionally thin, come in at least 3 different sizes which I think will be 32", 46" and 55" displays. I also think that it will come with many feature's that the Apple TV box set has.

2. - iPad 3:

It is very likely Apple will introduce the much-hyped iPad 3 in the next 2 or so months ahead. There are rumors floating about, claiming that the iPad 3 will have an all new Retina Display, better cameras, A6 Processor and for the tablet to be both thinner and lighter.  

3. - iPhone 5:

 The world was expecting to see the iPhone 5 in 2011, but sadly that wasn't to be. So, surely there must be an iPhone 5 this year, right? Many sources claim that the iPhone 5 will have a larger 4.0" screen, which will be greatly welcomed. Others say the Apple A6 Processor will be packed into iPhone 5. People also say the iPhone 5 be significantly thinner and lighter. Fingers crossed we will see an all new redesigned Apple iPhone 5 this year.

4. - 15" MacBook Air:

To accompany the 11" and the 13" MacBook Air, sources say that Apple is at testing stage with a brand-new 15" MacBook Air, which is said to have an Ivy bridge Processor packed inside. Personally, I would like to see a higher resolution FaceTime HD Camera on the front as the current FaceTime Camera on the MacBook Air is horrible. I think the price for the 15" MacBook Air will be around the £1500 mark, but that is just a guess. I think if Apple were to introduce this machine into the Mac family, it would be one of their best selling products.
