Review: Beats by Dr. Dre Wireless

Beats by Dr. Dre have recently announced a Wireless edition to their line up of headphones. In this review, I will cover the good and bad.

The Good:

Compared to Beats flagship headphones, the Solo HD's, Beats Wirless editions are far supirior in both sound quality and durability. The ear cups are also slightly larger and benifit from extra ear cup padding on Beats Wirless. I also like that there are controls built into the right side of the earphones enabling the user to control volume, fast forward/rewind, on/off, and even control phone calls. iOS users also have the benifit of controling Siri with the headphones. Beats Wireless are extremely comfy and do not squeeze the users ears compared to Beats Mixrs. These headphones offer great quality sound, highs, mids and lows are fine, they do not distort at high volume, and bass is excellent, although not overpowering. Battery life is also spectacular on the Beats by Dre Wireless'. Beats claim that you can get 10 hours of charge from these headphones, and they do not lie. Beats also provides with a 3.5mm cable if the user prefers to use these headphones wired. The headphone jack is located on the bottom of the right earcup. Do note that the headphones automatically power off when the 3.5mm headphone cable is connected thus meaning the battery life is not wasted. It takes roughly one hour to charge completely. When charged completely, the LED flashes green.

The Bad:

To be honest, there is not much to complain about the Beats Wireless headphones. However, I do not like the fact that the micro USB port is tucked underneath the left earcup, it makes it hard to stick the cable in (yes, make your jokes) when charging. I also dislike that there is no way to tell when the Beats Wireless headphones are needing charged barr a small blinking red LED on the right earcup. And finally, I dislike how the LED flashes blue every few seconds when connected via Bluetooth. It can be distracting when not on the users head. (I hope that made sense).

Overall, the bad portion of this review was just my opinion. You might think different, though. Beats sell these headphones for £249.95 ($279.95) and come in both black and white. Personally, I think the Beats by Dr. Dre Wireless headphones are great and are definitely worth buying.

WESC Maraca Black Headphones

Sometimes you have to learn the hard way that just because a pair of hradphones or earbuds look great doesn't mean that they will sound great. Fortunately, I am here with a video review of a pair of headphones that I feel are not up to par, especially with the price tag that they flaunt. Yes, looks do matter when it comes to headphones, but sound matters more, and good sound is just something you won't get from this pair of headphones.
