iPhone Reception Issue Test

There has been a lot of talk lately about the new iPhone 4, specifically problems with reception. The iPhone 4 is running iOS 4.0, so I have decided to make a test to see if the reception issues are really software related or is it just hardware related. So I ran a test with two iPhone 3GS, one with iOS 4.0 and one with iOS 3.1.3. I gripped each phone for about 30-40 seconds to see if the reception would go down. The results were interesting to say the least. Both phones when gripped tightly lost reception!

iPhone 4 Unboxing

Here I unbox the 16 GB iPhone 4. It features an Apple A4 processor, front-facing camera, back camera w/ LED flash, and the beautiful Retina Display. To get a breakdown of the specifications, go here.
I've played with it a few hours now, and I love how crisp everything is on the Retina Display. I've also noticed how fast the iPhone 4 is compared to the iPhone 3GS. And lastly the video and picture quality are both great. I shot a few test shots and will have them on my YouTube channel soon.

iPhone 4: Gumdrop Moto Case Review

Gumdrop Cases is first on the scene with their Moto Silicone Case for the iPhone 4. Announced a few days before the iPhone 4 was, it has set the precedent for rubber iPhone 4 skins. Aimed at the younger and more youthful demographic, Gumdrop Cases tries to relate their cases to action sports, and is a daughter company of Hard Candy Cases, a company that was first on the iPad scene.

This case is well made with a good thick gauge rubber. Rips and tears should not be a problem, like I have seen with other rubber skins. The texture of the case makes it feel good in the hand and gives it a nicer look than plain old rubber. Some people may be hesitant to spend $29.95 on a silicone sleeve but sometimes that is the price you pay for a case for a brand new product.
