Review: Opera Mini 5 Beta for Android

Opera Mini 5 for Android is my most used app on my phone. It is a fantastic web browsing experience and I would take it over the Dolphin Browser. The one thing I do miss from the standard browser and Dolphin Browser is multi-touch. I really hope Opera decides to fix this! I also would like to see the option to make this the primary browser. It is pretty annoying to use the Google Search button and have it take you to the standard Android browser.

But overall, I give this browser a good 4.5/5. See you all in the next post.

Apple's Pricing Rant

I love Apple. I love their products and the company itself, but what I don't like about them is their pricing.
I'm not going to go on a rant to say that Macs are overpriced because when it comes down to it, they are not overpriced. But Apple's other products like the iPhone and iPad vary in price internationally. I'm not just saying in some countries an iPhone costs a couple of $s more than in others, as that is understandable due to shipping costs etc. But in some cases Apple's products can cost over $100 more in another country.

The example I will give will be the Apple TV 160GB. In the US Apple store it costs $230 which is the equivalent of £150 a very good price for such a wonderful gadget. But in the UK Apple store it costs £223 which is the equivalent of $343. That is over $100 more than in the US and trust me if you get it from the UK you don't get anything extra.

All in all Apple is a great company, in fact Apple is an amazing company but no company can be perfect, many can try but they won't succeed and Apple is just the same. But to be honest I don't mind paying an extra $100 just as long as when I open that Apple box it is going to be a great product, which it will inevitably will be.

The iPad has Changed the World

If you are old enough to remember the Mac in 1984, you remeber how revolutionary the GUI was. Although Xerox invented it, Apple took it to the next level; pioneering a new era in computing. Whether or not you prefer Mac over PC, or even if you hate the Mac, you have to admit it simplified computing for all. And as Apple continues to simplify the computer for the average user, the hard core PC user says that Macs are for "fags" and "retards."

Apple is simplifying the computer, as they did in 1984. I ask you Mac haters; if simifying the computer makes Macs "faggy," then do you consider the GUI that simplified the computer, and replaced command line, "faggy" as well?

Well, Apple took a big leap. Today, the iPad was released to the world. It may seem like a big iPhone, but it's a stepping stone to the future of computing. The iPad will simplify computing, and make it more powerful. It is to the Mac what the Mac was to the Apple][.

It will change things. Because as the iPad becomes more like a computer, and gains more features, becoming simpler in the process, it'll csnibalize your need for a computer. Unless you write programs, and professionally edit video, you may get rid of your computer all together. But eventually, movie editing may come to an iPad-like device. You'd be able to directly handle your video clips. And programming of the future may become totally object oriented, and come to an iPad-like device as well. Slowly but surely, the computer as we know it will disappear... as command line did.

Because being able to just reach out and touch your work... to be able to interact with it that intimately is the true innovation of the iPad.

Before you know it, we'll be writing apps and editing movies on an iPad like device.

In 1984, it was "Welcome to Macintosh."

In 2010,

I welcome you to iPad. Mr. Jobs, you have successfully put a ding into the universe.

Want to Speed Up Safari On Mac?

Safari 4 on Mac can sometimes be slow, laggy, glitchy or full of beach balls! Just one line of script in Terminal and you are set with a nice and faster Safari. I can almost guarantee you that Safari will be somewhat snappier after using the codes and restarting your Mac or Safari.

Out of the Box MacBook Pro Video

I shot this video and edited it on my MacBook Pro a while back when I first opened it. This should show you how easy it is to pick up on using a Mac as well as the iSight quality. It is in HD.
