Analysis: Episode 606 "Mafia"

I am a huge Office fan. It is one of my favorite shows. So every now and then, I will give everyone my analysis of the most recent episode. I hope people enjoy this. I know there are podcasts such as TWSS (which I am a fan of) but I want to let people know my thoughts. So here we go.

This week's episode is called "Mafia." The basic plot focuses around Michael buying insurance from whom he thinks is an Italian mobster. So he, Dwight and Andy go undercover in order to prove that he is, in fact, part of the mafia. I will be honest: I found this plot line terribly unfunny. With the exception of Andy trying to jump start a car, I hardly laughed throughout this entire episode. The fact that they thought this man was mafia was very weak and didn't really have any moments that would send the viewer into a state of heavy laughter. And the fact that Michael was served with factual proof by Oscar that this man was an actual insurance salesman, and ignores it,just made it the more unbelievable. Now as promised in the episode description, Erin ruined Pam's drawing. But this plot was completely cut from the show. Instead, it was replaced with Kevin's story line and was moved to a 2 minute deleted scene. This actually sounded interesting. Erin hasn't really been defined in my opinion in terms of what type of character she is and this would of been a good opportunity for viewers to get a glimpse into that window. As I said, it was replaced with Kevin's plot. Basically, he is using Jim's office to "pass gas" while Jim is in Puerto Rico. So Kevin gets a call from Jim's credit card company reporting strange charges in Puerto Rico and accidentally cancels the card. This wasn't funny, and it had no real ending. If they follow up in the next episode with this, than I can let it go, but it didn't really seem believable. For one, it says that Kevin gave the company his S.S. number. I didn't buy the fact that a smart guy like Jim would leave his important personal information laying out on his desk. It wasn't plausible to me. I think this storyline could of easily been swapped out for the Erin/Pam painting bit. We didn't need to see Kevin acting more like a man-child.

Well all-in-all, I will give this episode a rating of 2.5/5

This episode had little to no strong or high points. No real LOL moments and I think fans will agree with me. I hope you enjoyed my little rant/review/analysis. Feel free to send feedback arguing or agreeing. I am open to all points of views. More to come in the future.

Akon - Freedom Album Review

Album Info

Freedom, released on December 2, 2008, is Hip-Hop/R&B artist Akon's 3rd album. Currently in the United States, it has sold about 600,000 copies. Akon's last albums, Trouble and Konvicted, were given relatively positive reviews, but Freedom got a mixture of good and bad reviews. The three singles on the album are Right Now (na na na), I'm So Paid, and Beautiful.

Review

Personally, I think that this is an absolutely wonderful album. After purchasing it about a week after it's release, I've had plenty of time to listen to it numerous times and I have yet to become tired of it. I pretty much like every song on the album, but my three favorites have to be Right Now (na na na), Troublemaker, and Against The Grain. All of the songs are very catchy with many having a dance/techno groove to them. The songs differ greatly with no song sounding too much like another. The lyrics are pretty good in most songs such as Fredom, but in other songs, they are just plain stupid like Holla Holla. I think this is Akon's best album to date, and it is definitely worth checking out.

Track Listing

1) Right Now (na na na) 2) Beautiful 3) Keep You Much Longer 4) Troublemaker 5) We don't care 6) I'm So Paid 7) Holla Holla 8) Against The Grain 9) Be With You 10) Sunny Day 11) Birthmark 12) Over The Edge 13) Freedom

Album has appearances by Colby O'Donis, Kardinal Offishall, Sweet Rush, Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, T-Pain, Ray Lavender, and Wyclef Jean.

Yazoo Chocolate Milkshake Review

Yazoo are famous for their milkshakes and try to compete against other brands like Breaktime, Cadburys and Mars. Today, I'll be reviewing the chocolate version of their range.

Packaging

Yazoo doesn't use a lot of materials for their packaging, which is always good if you're a recycling addict. The front of the bottle has their Yazoo logo, in text, in a large format with a blue font with a white outline. The background is 'the image of opening the product and seeing its texture' look, which again appeals to the customer.

Texture

If you don't shake it when opening, you find that the milkshake is very runny and it doesn't feel like a proper milkshake, it just feels like a chocolate drink. I find that milkshakes are classified as milkshakes when they are at least creamy when consuming. When you do shake the product, you can feel the thickness of the milkshake as it starts to get a little heavier as the cream activates.

I poured the product into a glass and I found what I expect from a milkshake: plenty of thick mixture and when fully consumed, the froth from the drink is impossible to get out, as it's so thick!

Overall

I definitely recommend this milkshake if you're after a quick fix for a sweet tooth or just want something that will last you a while, but you'll most certainly enjoy it.

Microsoft Word 2010 Walkthrough

Microsoft is set to launch Office 2010 this year. The evolutionary upgrade to Office 2007 introduces several new features, most notably, online web applications to interface with your desktop application. In essence, Microsoft is launching a service similar to google docs with a corresponding desktop application. For me, word processing has always been my biggest need for a productivity suite and the updates to word 2010 are interesting. My take is Microsoft is trying to streamline the process of creating documents by bringing a more robust image system into the application. By adding artistic effects, the ability to quickly create powerful graphics, and the option to remove the background of an image all inside of word showcases Microsoft's desire to make word your one stop shop for word processing.

Although Office 2010 will solely be a Windows application the features and improvements hint at what mac users can expect in Microsoft's follow-up to Office 2008, whenever that is announced. There are free alternative such as Google Docs and Open Office but I still prefer the power of Microsoft's offering.
