Unboxing: Samson Meteor Mic

Here we have yet another microphone unboxing. This time, we have a high quality USB condensor microphone by the geniuses at Samson for only $69.99. Not to mention the vintage design and ultra portability of this gorgeous piece of tech. I'll be testing the audio of this guy extensively so stay tuned! What mic are you using?

So far, I've been very impressed with this microphone. For the price, you get a latency abilities and sensitivity controls on the front. This is a cardioid pickup pattern so it will be great for vocals. I used this microphone so far in this video and the iPad mini unboxing. It will be a great little gadget to carry with me in my purse when editing video on-the-go. The portable factor gives the Meteor Mic a huge advantage of competitors like the Blue Snowball.

Leave your questions about this microphone below and I will cover them in my later first impressions and review videos. As always, thanks for your support, comments, likes and subscriptions. You guys ROCK!

Samson Go Mic Review

The Samson Go Mic has pleasantly surprised me. I'll be the first to admit that I was slightly worried after ordering it seeing all the love for the blue snowball mic's that were around £10 more. I managed to stem this feeling by thinking how it needed to be portable and not a rather large snowball rolling around my desk.

So it arrived, I plugged it in and initially I wasn't that impressed, but once I plugged my headphones in to monitor the sound and worked out it's positioning, I haven't looked back, it's great, yes it may not have as richer sound as the snowball, but for my needs it's perfect. I just hope in future they produce a version thats all metal as the plastic does make it seem cheap which is a shame considering how sturdy the base is. Overall 8/10

Samson Go Mic Unboxing

So after finally realising that my cameras in built microphone was of questionable quality, I decided to buy myself an external microphone. Obviously my first thought was the blue snowball, but after further research I stumbled upon this as reviewed by soldierknowsbest on youtube. As i'm going to be moving around more frequently in the near future it seemed like a better option than the 2kg snowball microphone, although time will tell how much quality to my ears that I have lost, hopefully not much!

First impressions so far are a solid stand, although I do feel the microphone itself could be made a bit stronger. Saying that it doesnt creak when pressed and the button gives a satisfying click. Out of interest what microphones or cameras do you all use?

First Look: Samson MK-10 Professional Mic Stand

Before we trudge onward into the plethora of new videos I have in store for the channel, I thought it would make sense to introduce you all to my new microphone stand: the Samson MK-10. I'd highly recommend this boom stand to anyone with a small studio or home setup. Check out the video for more!

Some of my favorite features of this microphone stand include the built in boom arm and the build quality. The strength and resistance you can feel when setting height is very comforting. You know that your microphone will be safe and sound when attached to this guy.
