I've really enjoyed photography for years, it's a passion for me. In this video I unbox my latest lens.
The photos shown in this video are taken by me at Ayr Racecourse on Saturday the 21st April. They are of the horses in the Coral Scottish Grand National.
I have really enjoyed working with the lens, it's been a plesure. I can't recommend it enough to people needing a telephoto lens.
Here we have yet another microphone unboxing. This time, we have a high quality USB condensor microphone by the geniuses at Samson for only $69.99. Not to mention the vintage design and ultra portability of this gorgeous piece of tech. I'll be testing the audio of this guy extensively so stay tuned! What mic are you using?
So far, I've been very impressed with this microphone. For the price, you get a latency abilities and sensitivity controls on the front. This is a cardioid pickup pattern so it will be great for vocals. I used this microphone so far in this video and the iPad mini unboxing. It will be a great little gadget to carry with me in my purse when editing video on-the-go. The portable factor gives the Meteor Mic a huge advantage of competitors like the Blue Snowball.
Leave your questions about this microphone below and I will cover them in my later first impressions and review videos. As always, thanks for your support, comments, likes and subscriptions. You guys ROCK!
On a regular basis, viewers tend to ask me how I edit my videos to be so colorful. Well, it's no secret that I use Final Cut Pro X as my main video editor. My secret weapon, however, is a plugin called Magic Bullets Mojo. Watch for examples of color correction and how I use this color correction software to my advantage!
Red Giant is most well known for their full version of Magic Bullets that often plugins into major applications like Adobe Premiere or Adobe After Effects. Magic Bullets Mojo is a dialed down version of the application, giving you addition Final Cut Pro X Effects to add more in depth color grading to your video. While there isn't much wiggle room beyond the effects, you can adjust each color correction to your liking using a variety of sliders. At the price point of $49.99, I think this plugin is a must for any amateur/intermediate YouTuber, videographer or filmmaker using the latest version of Apple's Final Cut software!

Red Giant Software also make Trapcode Soundkeys; which is a great plug-in for working with audio and adjusting levels in your compositions. There is a great lesson on CreativeCow.net on how to work with Trapcode Soundkeys by Aharon Rabinowitz.
At a price point of around $100, the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 prime lens is on the radar of many new DSLR owners. I decided to get my hands on one six months ago and I haven't regretted it for a minute. Listen in on my thoughts paired with some test photos/video to help you decide if this lens is right for you!
As seen in the test footage, this lens performs beautifully in low light situations. This lens also gives your shots a very cinematic look with dramatic depth of field at the 1.8 aperture setting. I highly recommend this lens for any and all DSLR owners due to it's affordable price and impressive image quality. The plastic body is a sacrifice when mounted to a sturdy DSLR camera. You will never want to use your kit lens again! Except for vlogging, as mentioned in this video... ;)

As many of you know, I'm a proud owner of the Canon EOS Rebel T3i (Kiss X5) DSLR. However, thanks to my job at Best Buy, I was able to spend some quality time with the T4i during one of my shifts. After comparing the two, let me describe the perfect buyer of each camera.
I'd suggest that if this is your first DSLR, you should save the money by buying the Canon T3i and then use that cash to pick up some higher quality lenses for your new camera, such as the recently released 40mm f/2.8 STM pancake lens or a nice 75-300mm zoom lens. Maybe even use that money to pick up a higher quality microphone if you are going to be using this camera for YouTube. The T4i would really only be the choice for you if you feel you will significantly benefit from the continuous auto-focus in HD video mode, which as mentioned in this video, you can achieve a similar type effect if you keep your camera's lens in automatic.
No matter what interchangeable lens camera you choose, I'd love to hear your thoughts and decisions below! Leave any specific, personal questions about SLRs below as well :) Thanks so much for watching!
