Some Features You Probably Didn't Know About iPhone 3.0

Just today Apple released iPhone 3.0 and I would like to share with you some very minor features that I have noticed with the 3.0 software:

1- When you load up the App Store and go under 'Categories' and choose one and then find the 'Top Free' and 'Top Paid', you will notice that the buttons have a different style that makes it both easier to press and has a better, professional look to it.

2- If you go under your Settings and tap 'General', 'Reset', and then tap 'Reset Home Screen Layout', it will place all the apps you have purchased from the App Store in alphabetical order.

3- There is a new part of the Settings and it is Notifications that lets you manage the notifications that are running for certain apps.

Well those are a few that I have found so far, I will update you all later when I find another bunch of them. :)

Nintendo DSI OS Walkthrough

A recent post on this blog highlighted the hardware of the new Nintendo DSI. Well, as I'm sure you all are aware, hardware is just one aspect of a gadget as software is just as important. This HD video covers the new software installed on the DSI. I suggest watching it before deciding one way or the other on purchasing a new DS.

iPhone 3.0 Software On The Way

Apple has just announced  that they will be holding a special event for the release of iPhone software update 3.0 on Tuesday, March 17th. Not much is known about the event, but Apple is calling it an "advanced preview". So, I don't think we will be upgrading our iPhones just yet.

There is no word on who will be heading the event

Safari Beta 4 Available

Earlier today, Apple released Safari Beta 4 for both Mac and PC, which you can download here.

A summary of the new features include: (Summary by MacRumors)

-Top Sites, a display of frequently visited pages in a stunning wall of previews so users can jump to their favorite sites with a single click;

-Full History Search, where users search through titles, web addresses and the complete text of recently viewed pages to easily return to sites they've seen before;

-Cover Flow, to make searching web history or bookmarks as fun and easy as paging through album art in iTunes;
-Tabs on Top, for better tabbed browsing with easy drag-and-drop tab management tools and an intuitive button for opening new ones;
-Smart Address Field, that automatically completes web addresses by displaying an easy-to-read list of suggestions from Top Sites, bookmarks and browsing history;
-Smart Search Field, where users fine-tune searches with recommendations from Google Suggest or a list of recent searches;
-Full Page Zoom, for a closer look at any website without degrading the quality of the site's layout and text;
-Developer Tools- built-in web developer tools to debug, tweak and optimize a website for peak performance and compatibility; and
-Windows-native lookin Safari for Windows, that uses standard Windows font rendering and native title bar, borders and toolbars so Safari fits the look and feel of other Windows XP and Windows Vista applications.

The most interesting to me is the new "Top sites" page that will display a number of your top visited websites in a dashboard like manner.
