Whether you are providing services, books, courses, etc on your website or just interested in hearing back from your readers, this nice find of ours will definitely come in handy
First of all, you heard it right: It's free... For now while the developers are testing. It looks like it's going to cost $29 per month after that... It doesn't look like a too huge investment but whether you are going to use if after it's out of beta or not, it will definitely be a very enlightening experience.
In this video I show you around Raven, which is a new web browser for Mac with a lot of social integration. The great design of the browser as well as the awesome social functionality makes it a great browser all around. Be sure to watch the video for more information, and the browser can be downloaded free here.
Curious because Internet Explorer 9 somehow made it onto the twitter trending topics twice in one day, I decided to give it a try. Heading to Beauty of the web, I downloaded the beta and opened it, and immediately thought I had opened Chrome by accident. Well, I was wrong. Here are some things I noted while playing with the beta:
* Improved interface: The tabs are now on the top of the window, next to the navigation bar. Speaking of the navigation bar, it acts like the navigation bar in Chrome, allowing you to search the web (Bing) right from it. The home, favorites, and settings buttons are now neatly tucked in a corner, and not in your face like in previous versions of IE.
* Faster rendering: I would be lying if I did not say that I was not impressed by the speed of the browser. Microsoft is trying really hard to pull users back to it's product, and it's obvious that speed is how they are doing it.
* Just faster: I remember using IE7 and IE8, and wanting to open a new tab. Well, it tabs took forever to open in IE 7 and 8. Not so in IE9. I held CTRL+T, and tabs opened instantly. Also, it's blowing the competition away in benchmarks.
I would be lying if I did not say that I was impressed with the beta, but I would also be lying if I did not say that I kept thinking and wishing I was using Chrome. IE9 is a big improvement over IE8, but will it be enough to fend off Firefox and Chrome? We will have to wait and see.
What's up guys? This is my preview of the iPhone OS 4 Developer Beta that was released a couple days ago on April 8th 2010 (Consumer release date is Summer 2010). There was a lot of new and cool features released with this new version of the iPhone software, and I am really excited to see where developers take some of the new API's they have been given.
Just a quick reminder, never - NEVER download the iPhone 4 Beta firmware from a torrent or third party site unless your are an Apple developer. If you update your iPhone to the new firmware and your device isn't registered for development with Apple, your iPhone will no longer work and your warranty doesn't cover it.
Personally, as a year long Android user I have to say that I am particularly amazed at how great the Android OS has come along in this past year. Wednesday morning, the company that has created the somewhat popular Opera browser have released their beta version of their new Opera Mini Browser for the Android OS. It has been known for quite some time how the default internet browser on android devices are lacking in substance. It would seem that Opera has stepped up and proven that their Opera Mini 5 Beta browser is a contestant amongst the few popular browsers on the Android OS such as the Dolphin Browser. Here is a video of my review of the Opera Mini 5 Browser for Android, hope you enjoy!
