Programs That Wacom Bamboo Tablets Work On

I get asked the question all of the time,"What programs will that tablet work on?" The answer is quite simple, any program that you can use a mouse on will work with it, just install the drivers first. The tablet literally works as a mouse only with pressure sensitivity.

Twitter for Mac, Twitter for Windows?

In January, we saw with the release of the new Mac App Store Twitter released their new client for Mac,updating the outdated Tweetie, after Twitter bought Atebits, creator of Tweetie and claiming rights to the application. Atebits was also the developer who invented Tweetie for iPhone which in turn changed to Twitter for iPhone.

Twitter then created Twitter for Android & Twitter for Windows Phone after releasing a BlackBerry client too. With the majority of smartphones sorted, what about the other computer operating systems? Windows & Linux?

Twitter clients which are widely available for Windows and Linux, thanks to the Adobe Air platform are standard and allow the user to control their Twitter account within the client itself, without the need of logging into the web interface. TweetDeck is a great client for those power users where as Twhirl and DestroyTwitter are primarily focused at the casual tweeter. However, with the Adobe Air platform compatible with Mac too, Twitter is facing quite a competition and will need to add more functions than they did with their Mac application to win Windows users over.

I'm both a Mac and a PC as I operate both within my household so I have no bias opinion, but I ask "what is yours?". Leave a comment below!

How to Connect iTunes to Twitter

I know that I have personally have wanted to be able to tweet what I'm listening to without having to type everything out, even though I'm a fast typer.  Well, I decided to Google for iTunes plug-ins that would allow me to do so.  One of the first (and best) that I found was Twunes (Mac only).

When you first open Twunes, it will ask you to add your twitter account.  After you add your account, you have options of how you want a tweet to look.  You can include the album name, make the artist a hashtag, include a track link to either iTunes or last.fm, and choose a prefix for your tweet like "iTunes plays" or #nowplaying.  You also get the option to pause the song you are currently listening to or skip to the next track right from the application.

The Twunes pane looks really good, giving you album art, Track name, Artist name, and Album name.  In the "Your Tweet" part of this pane, it shows you a preview of the tweet you can send out based on your settings.  Click the tweet button, and it will send the tweet out to your twitter account.

Overall I give Twunes a 4/5 for it's great interface and the amount of options you have, though I would like an option to tweet the songs automatically.  I recommend it to every Mac user.

Beak: A Mac Twitter Client

Beak is a Twitter client for the Mac OS X platform. It is a rival to the popular Tweetie, which is available for the Mac along with the iPhone and iPod Touch. Although it is still in beta, Beak is stylish, good at doing its job and keeps you up to date with all of your Twitter notifications.

In comparison to Tweetie, Beak is free and offers similar functionality once logged in. Beak is still in its beta stages, where Tweetie has only one version out for Mac and I'm longing for the next version of Tweetie to be released.

One function I would like to change in Beak is the time display. Currently it shows the time the tweet was sent and not how long ago it was sent. If you have a Mac and would like to download and try Beak for Mac, the download link can be found here, along with additional information on the client.

Enjoy
