Dive Into Twitter with WeFollow & Twtrland

Twitter SearchDespite the character limit and the apparent impracticality it causes, Twitter has become a serious platform. These days people use it for job hunting, content marketing, creative discussions, or simply to expand their networks of both private and professional contacts.

You don't have to be a power user to recognize the value of an efficient search function – something that Twitter admittedly lacks. Since Google and Twitter broke off their relationship in 2011 and discontinued Google Realtime Search (which showed all public tweets in Google results), Twitter users have been forced to use the default Twitter search. Of course, it works – but the results are not always satisfactory, even when you use the advanced search option. Luckily, there are many web services providing a solution, and today we'll look at two very powerful tools with a new approach to Twitter search.

Their names? WeFollow and Twtrland.

Connect Facebook and Twitter with IFTTT

In my everyday life I find that most people have a Facebook account to keep in contact with friends and distant relatives but it's not unusual for a particular person to choose not to use Facebook at all. In those situations I normally turn to Twitter to see if they have am account there. 9 times out of 10 people will use one of those two social networks. You can switch back and forth, posting your updates and sharing your pictures and links but did you know that it's possible to post the same thing to both accounts at once?

If you hook up your Facebook and Twitter channels to IFTTT.com then there are a ton of different ways you could connect the accounts together. We'll start with a few time savers before we move on to the ins-and-outs or message sharing. If you want to find out more about the service you could check out their website or read my post about IFTTT from last week.

Is Tweetbot for Mac worth almost 20 dollars?

Many of Apple devices users knows about the famous twitter client called Tweetbot. In late 2012, Tweetbot's creators decided to migrate to the Mac OS X platform. They did a very nice job with the interface of the client. It looks amazing! Tweetbot for Mac brings you all the cool features of the mobile app for a bigger screen. But many people complained about the app price: US$ 19,99.

We all know that Twitter has a official app for OS X, the one which was not updated since 1st of June 2011, but Tweetbot for mac came to show to the heavy-users what they always wanted. A lot of informations is going online every second on Twitter. Personally, I do not watch tv anymore and just read the news via social networks. With the streaming timeline I can quickly read tweets when I'm surfing the web or doing other things.

How to Use Hootsuite to Increase Your Productivity

I am always asked by people how I can be on Facebook and Twitter every waking hour, trawl through my various daily blog RSS feeds and yet still manage to get my work done. I don’t keep it a secret: I use a social management platform to aggregate all my feeds into one easy to manage App that’s available on the web, on my phone and on my tablet. It’s called Hootsuite and it’s been a godsend to keep me updated while not taking up too much of my time.

The Hootsuite dashboard allows you to have up to 5 profiles linked to the App in the free version. If your using anything to manage more than 5 accounts your probably willing to shell out the $9.99 a month for the privilege.

What Social Networks does Hootsuite Support?

The Hootsuite app supports the usual Twitter and Facebook but it’s also works with a bunch of the other big named Social Networks and even a few other platforms too like WordPress and Foursquare. Here’s the full list of profile types it supports right out-of-the-box.

  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • LinkedIn
  • Google+ Pages
  • MySpace
  • Foursquare
  • WordPress
  • Mixi
