2 Tricks For Finding What You've Said On Google Plus

If you've given advice all over Google Plus, it's very easy to forget where all this helpful, sage advice resides. What if you want to search your own posts and comments in a relatively painless way? Try these two tips.

First scenario: You're searching for comments you've left on Google Plus posts originated by other users.

Adding a hyphen before inurl colon in the Google Plus search bar will let us do this. Your query should look like this:

["bnmbyour name" -inurl:x

(Replace x with your Google Plus profile number)

Mobile Search Behavior [Infographic]

When it comes to searching online the first thing anyone does is move to the nearest internet connected device and type in a search query. The nearest device is often a mobile device. The very nature of a mobile device means we always have one at hand. Think about your mobile phone. How often is it either in your hand, in your pocket or on the table in front of you? Pretty much all the time. It's always nearby. That's what I was thinking when I stumbled on this last week when I was writing about Infographic start-up Visual.ly.

Twitter SearchDespite the character limit and the apparent impracticality it causes, Twitter has become a serious platform. These days people use it for job hunting, content marketing, creative discussions, or simply to expand their networks of both private and professional contacts.

You don't have to be a power user to recognize the value of an efficient search function – something that Twitter admittedly lacks. Since Google and Twitter broke off their relationship in 2011 and discontinued Google Realtime Search (which showed all public tweets in Google results), Twitter users have been forced to use the default Twitter search. How to Use Advanced Search: Searching Smart

If you do any research online then your going to spend a lot of time in the search engines. I wouldn't even like to count the hours that I've spent on Google. Most of the time when people search for something they use a standard keyword search. You type a couple of words into the box, press enter and up pops a list of results.

Although search engines do their best to give you the right results for what you type they don't always manage get it right. Sometimes it takes you a couple of searches to find what you need or you have to look through a few pages of results but there are ways of helping the search engine to help you find it faster.
