The Ultimate Geek's Wishlist for 2011

Today, I'm sharing with you the 5 things I think are the ultimate things to give a geek for the holidays in 2011.

If you are a geek or you know one, this list points to some of the best gifts for geeks that I know of.  Most of the things on this list are products that I would personally reccomend to friends, family and all of the geeks I know.  Enjoy :)

5. Minecraft

Minecraft is a first-person game that you can build in and the goal is to build as much as possible without getting killed by the creepers during the night.  The 3D gameplay is superb, and is definitely a game I would reccomend to most any geek out there.

Minecraft works on Windows, Mac, and Linux and needs a minimum of 1 GB of ram to work properly.

If you know another geek who doesn't have this (or if you've been wanting to it), now is the time to get it.  If you already have an account, you can buy "giftcodes" on the website to give to others for them to redeem with their Minecraft accounts, or if you're buying it for yourself, you can make a Minecraft account and order it straight on the website.

$26.95 [Minecraft.net]

4. Angry Birds Plush

The Angry Birds Plush is something that for any geek who is an Angry Birds fan will love.  The material that it is made out of is very high-quality, and it hasn't fallen apart on me yet.  Very good to use for a variety of purposes and is good to have around.  It even has a good smell to it!  This is a wonderful thing to give as a side-gift to a geek for Christmas this year or even someone who just likes Angry Birds.

You can pick these up at your local Walmart if you are in a hurry, or on Amazon.com.

$15.99 [Amazon.com]

3. Blue Snowball

The Blue Snowball is a USB microphone that is perfect for many things from making YouTube videos, to recording vocals for a song.  It has 3 modes, although the one I'd best reccomend if you are making YouTube videos or podcasting with it is the #2 mode (these modes can be switched between with a switch on the back of the microphone).  The sound it records is crisp and very rich.  Also with the included stand, it should sit perfectly on most desks and should work with most computers.  I'd definitely reccomend this if you or another geek you know are in the market for a USB Microphone.  With the included stand, it should sit perfectly on most desks and should work with most computers.

This is a lovely gift for any geek who is making YouTube videos or is into podcasting.  As a geek myself, I would reccomend this microphone as for the price and its functionality, it is one of the best USB microphones you can get.

If you want a full review of the Blue Snowball, you can read my review of the Blue Snowball on Fancy Show Tech.

$60.00 [Amazon.com]

2. Mac Mini

The Mac Mini is a small, and powerful Mac.  This is good for a home theather computer or if you're switching from PC to Mac and want a inexpensive, small, and powerful Mac to start your journey into the Mac ecosystem.  It should work for a good amount of internet browsing and basic movie and photo editing flawlessly. The Mac Mini also works well for a home media server/storage server. Be aware that this computer doesn't come with a display or mouse and keyboard and you will have to provide your own.

This is a great gift for a geek who is switching/planning on switching from PC to Mac or who wants a side computer.  I'd definitely reccomend the Mac Mini this Christmas.

$599-999 [Apple.com]

1. MacBook Air

The grand finale of this list is the MacBook Air.  This powerful laptop is great for anything from checking email, to editing HD Video and PhotoShop.  I use one everyday and would reccomend this to any geek in the market for a ultra-portable laptop that also has sufficent enough specs to do most everyday tasks with ease.  It also is surprisingly somewhat-durable due to the unit's lack of moving parts.  I have (by accident before) dropped the MacBook Air while it was on and I was able to use it right after picking it up without any damage to the system.

This is the laptop I would reccomend to anyone in the market for a portable and powerful laptop that could go with them anywhere.

$999-1,599 [Apple.com]

These are my top 5 geeky gifts for 2011.  The products featured on this list are ones that are of top build quality and I would reccomend to anyone who asked me personally.  If you are buying gifts for another geek (or maybe for yourself), these are the things I would most reccomend getting for a geek this Christmas.  If you have anything I didn't cover, or any thoughts on my picks, leave them in the comments below.

My Christmas Wish List 2010

It seems to be the thing to do at the moment, so here is my Christmas Wishlist for 2010. It's in three different sections with stuff that's super important, not so important but would be good to get, and stocking filler ideas. Enjoy!

Super Important

-UFC Official Fight Gloves (Large)|These would be ideal as I have a punching bag, but the gloves that came with it are honestly rubbish. The UFC gloves are top class and what's more they're worn by all the top fighters in the world. They have good padding as well, which is excellent|: http://www.amazon.co.uk/UFC-Official-Fight-Glove-Large/dp/B0019EXPJY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=sports&qid=1290963657&sr=8-1

-LEGO City Crawler Crane #7632|I need a new LEGO set, and as I'm collecting the City construction series at the moment, this set seems the obvious choice. It's tall and is quite cheap for what you get. More importantly it has a whole load of features|:http://www.amazon.co.uk/LEGO-City-7632-Crawler-Crane/dp/B001CQLUYG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1290963996&sr=8-1

-iPod Shuffle (Orange)|I need a new iPod, and seeing as I hate the new Nano, this is the only option. My current Nano is slowly crapping out on me and this new Shuffle does seem to have a good mix of features|: http://www.apple.com/uk/ipodshuffle/

-Money|Pretty obvious, but want it specifically to pay off the price of my Xbox and just to have more money in the bank|

-Flip Flops|Probably unconsciously the item i use most, the ones i have are all worn out and crappy, so would like a new pair of good ones|

-MATCH Annual 2010|I adore the football (soccer) magazine, and I always get the annual. It's pretty good this year and as usual it features tons of fun games and funny photos|

Not very Important, but would be good

-A few accessories for my fish tank|My goldfish (now 11) almost froze (literally!) when it was really cold a few weeks ago. He has now been put in a brand new tank in my room, so he gets fed properly and cared for properly. But his tank is a bit bare, so I want some good stuff to put in it|

-Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 (PS2)|I only like PES because of the sick graphics (better that FIFA) so I sort of want it for PS2, just to see if there have been any big improvements|:http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pro-Evolution-Soccer-2011-PS2/dp/B00403MIF8

-LEGO City Single Drum Roller #7746|Another possible LEGO set, again, just continuing in the LEGO City construction range|: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lego-7746-Exclusive-Single-Roller/dp/B001U3ZMFO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys&qid=1290964567&sr=8-1

-A DVD Case Stand|This would actually be for my video games (for PS2 and Xbox) as I don't really have a good place to put them|

Stocking filler ideas

-iTunes Giftcards

-DVDs

-Vouchers

-Stationary (pens especially)

-Anything Cadburys

-Mac Software

-Books (not many)

Christmas Wish List

Tonight I've got a piece about my Christmas wish list. I'm not going to write about my wish list in detail, because that would defeat the obligation to watch the video (above). But the four categories on my "wish list" are: tech setup, video games, books, and miscellaneous. I hope you enjoyed this video and I hope you're in the holiday spirit. Hope you all have a great evening.

Christmas Wishlist 2009

Many people have been doing these wish list articles and videos so I will be telling you mine. Here we go!

1. Seagate - FreeAgent Desk 500GB External USB 2.0 Hard Drive:  On my YouTube channel I make a lot of high definition 720p videos, which means that I use up a lot of space fast. So I decided to ask for a 500GB instead of a 1TB because I just bought myself a 250GB external drive. You can find the hard drive here.

2. Snowball Microphone - Blue Microphones:  The Snowball microphone is a very high quality microphone for Mac and PC. It's mostly for podcasts, videos filmed with a built in webcam, voiceovers, etc. You can purchase it here.

3.New Super Mario Bros - Wii: New Super Mario Bros is a new installment to the Mario Bros series. Well, actually it's just a port from the DS version with some new additions. It has received great reviews and it looks like a lot of fun.

4.Left 4 Dead 2 - Xbox 360: Left 4 Dead was a very popular game and now Left 4 Dead 2 is out and it looks amazing. I didn't really play Left 4 Dead much but the 2nd one comes with a whole new story so you really don't have to play the first one. This is a definite game on my list.

5. Uncharted 2 - PS3: Nathan Drake is back in the second installment on Uncharted and this looks way better then the first. Uncharted 2 comes with improved graphics, gameplay, and now multiplayer that looks great! I did get to try out the beta and it was very fun. I really want this one aswell.

6. 2,000 Wii Points: Short and simple; I want these so I can go on the Wii Shop Channel and buy some games.

Well that about wraps up my holiday wish list. Have a great Christmas and a very good New Year!

2009 Christmas Wishlist

This is not a top 10 list, but it does go in order from REALLY want to "hmm I'd like this".

1. New 21.5'' 3.33GHz iMac: Last year, I didn't ask for a new computer since the current one I had was fine(A mid-2007 iMac bought in March of 2008), but now with how the price has dropped significantly(when comparing to specs), It would be great if I got a new iMac. If I get the new iMac I plan on giving the old one to a friend who wants a Mac but can't afford one.

2. GameFly Subscription: I've always been wanting a GameFly subscription ever since I've heard of them. Not only does it ship the games right to you, but in the long run you end up saving money. Instead of buying 20 $60 games, You can rent 2 games a month which would be $22.95 a month. And, even better, no late fees.

3. Chumby One: The Chumby classic didn't really impress me all that much, but the Chumby one really did. It looks cool and it has a ton of features that the classic Chumby didn't have. You can listen to tens of thousands of stations and you can have pandora playing on the chumby. It also has a wide variety of news, weather, sports, games, clocks, etc, and you can play YouTube clips and trailers.

4. Pandora One: I use pandora a lot, almost every day, so unlimited hours of music and a great UI desktop application would really be nice.

5. iPhone 3G[S]: Now, I put the iPhone 3GS so low because I really don't need the new one, I'm happy with what I've got now. It would be nice, but I'd definitely prefer the 4 previous products over this one.

6. Apple Magic Mouse: I've been wanting to try out the new Magic Mouse and it's a cool concept, so It would be a nice thing to have.

7. HP Photosmart Premium TouchSmart Web All-in-One Printer: I haven't updated my Printer in almost 5 years, and I'm starting to see that the Printer is getting old and is starting to print slower, so this would be an amazing upgrade.

8. Dunkin Donuts Gift Card: 'nough said ;)

9. iTunes Gift Cards: Always buying new Apps and I love music, so these would be excellent for me.

I'm obviously not getting everything from this list, but hey, you never know.
