Photoshop Too Expensive?

Though Adobe's Photoshop program is superior photo editing software, it also comes with a hefty price. A long time ago, I was searching for free alternatives to this amazing application. None of them seemed to mimic Photoshop's great and professional user interface quite like Aviary's Phoenix.
