ScanDock for iPhone: The World's First iPhone Document Scanner

The ScanDock is a very unique product that lets you take a picture of an important document with your iPhone’s camera. When you purchase the ScanDock (for a low cost of $15), you get a small amount of cardboard pieces that require assembly. As you can see in the video below, assembly of this product was very easy. The build quality of the ScanDock is superior. The pieces are cut evenly and cleanly. Because of this material, the ScanDock is very light weight and easy to store.

The way the ScanDock works is very simple: you place your iPhone (or many other devices, as mentioned) on the top tray. You can play around with the position of the camera being aligned in the hole, depending on the item you plan to take a picture of. On the bottom tray, you can place pieces of paper, receipts, books, etc.

Anybody who owns an iPhone will say that the camera becomes very blurry when you take pictures with your hands. The ScanDock steadies out the camera so the images you take come out crisp and clear.

With the iPhone’s App Store, the ScanDock opens up a bunch of different opportunities with different applications. There are thousands of applications dedicated to help improve the iPhone’s camera. Two applications I find very useful with the ScanDock are JotNot and Evernote.

Pros:

•  Allows you to keep a digital copy of an important document you may have lying around your workspace.
• You can send the pictures you take via email or SMS text message (Once available).
• Nothing like this on the market. The ScanDock is a very unique product that holds a very useful purpose.
• Inexpensive. At just under $25 shipped, the ScanDock is affordable and nearly less than the case your iPhone is wearing.
• Light weight, compact, and easy to store in a desk or closet.

Cons:

• The cardboard material becomes vulnerable to snapping, breaking, tearing, or bending over time.

Overall: The ScanDock is a perfect addition to any iPhone user’s workplace. It is a great way to clean up clutter you have laying around your desk. If you want a device that is affordable, and can extend the possibilities of your iPhone, then the ScanDock is the way to go.
