Where do you get your Apple theories?

We all know 9to5mac, TUAW, AppleInsider, and MacRumors. They deliver Apple news, and rumors. But do they provide perspective, and thought? www.bitefromtheapple.com takes their news postings and analyzes them, correlating them with Apple's past actions to best predict what the tech giant will do. Visit us everyday for the best perspective on Apple there is to offer.

We will also be giving away a weekly prize. So, go to out website as much as possible, and, if you see the red button in the sidebar (which usually isn't there), click on it to get a prize!

iPhone 4.0 to bring new features to the iPad before the iPad comes out?

Now, we all thought that the iPad was going to come with iPhone 4.0 as well as a new iPhone. Unfortunately...it did not. But, Apple has introduced new iPhone OS versions around March historically. So, it's safe to say, March will yield the iPhone 4.0 software. But the iPad is also coming out in March. And I don't believe this to be coincidence. I think the iPad and iPhone will gain a bunch more features in the next few months; very soon. The iPad will almost definitely get multitasking, and I think the iPhone will as well, but only the next model, which will most likely have the same processor as the iPad. And, being a developer, I can give you a tour of it. I get all beta OS's early.

Chill. The iPad is here, man...

It appears everyone hates the iPod, and that, basically, it's a big iPod touch. Well, they're right. It is a big iPod touch. The same people also say it won't be successful. Well, they're wrong. Because while it is a big iPod Touch, it's not just that.

The iPad has a few killer features.

1. A 1GHz processor. That may not be too astounding, considering the Nexus One has the same clock speed. However, this chip was custom designed by Apple to integrate incredibly well with the software, and other hardware components. This also allows a multitouch UI that has many more little tricks than the iPhone's UI.

2. An LED screen. Very high contrast ratio and refresh rate...an awesome movie-watching experience. Not only that, but the high contrast ratio puts little strain on your eyes while reading, almost as little as a Kindle.

3. Very sensitive multitouch. Bob Mansfield said it himself; over 1,000 multitouch sensors. This means that, coupled with the big screen and fast processor, the iPad is a screaming fast device.

4. Apps made just for the iPad. The iPad scales up iPhone apps to full screen, but apps designed specifically for the iPad will be able to do magnificent things, and have more computing power for awesome graphics. OnLiveshould look gorgeous on it, as they are building an iPhone app, and most likely, an iPad app.

5. It will always be updated. Not really a feature, but if you don't like the iPad, know Apple will always have to add features in the future.

6. Feels great in your hand. Need I say more?

7. Books. Again, needs no explaining.

So, while I think the iPad will be not incredibly successful, Apple will sell many. This device has true potential, and Apple has taken the first big step towards something even better. And yes, I will be buying one, and I will have an unboxing video up on my YouTube channel, along with tons of other great Apple/Tech content.

Apple TV Review

Hello everyone, Alex here from ace4vikings productions. Today I am doing a written and video review (you can see above) of the Apple TV. The Apple TV can do many great things with your iTunes content, which I will be explaining to you today. The Apple TV can connect to your HD TV via component cables or HDMI. When you first turn on your Apple TV, you will be asked to open iTunes on your Mac or PC. Under the Devices category you will see, APPLE TV, and be asked to name your device. You can name it anything you want. You will also be asked to sync your iTunes content onto your Apple TV. You can choose to do the automatic sync or you can do a custom sync. For a custom sync you can choose what to sync in your iTunes library instead of syncing all of your content. The Apple TV has a few distinct categories such as Movies, Music, TV Shows, Podcasts, Photos, Internet, and Settings. Please let me break down each category (excluding settings). The Apple TV has a 160 GB Hard Drive. The Apple TV costs $229.

Movies: You can browse all of the newest released movies and purchase or rent a movie in standard or HD quality. You can browse by New Releases, Top Sales, Genre etc. Sometimes a new released movie won’t be available to rent until a certain date. Remember the Apple TV is synced to your iTunes account, so you can purchase or rent the movie right on the Apple TV. Standard quality movies usually cost $14.99 to buy and $19.99 to purchase in HD.

TV Shows: Browsing all of the latest released TV Show episodes is very easy with the Apple TV. You can browse by category such as, Top Shows of the Year, TV Network, Hottest TV Episodes, etc. A TV Episode usually costs $1.99 in standard quality and $2.99 in HD quality.

Music: You can browse and buy all of the newest released music on the Apple TV. You can choose from the Top Songs, New & Noteworthy, and by Genre of Music. A song usually starts at $0.99 or $1.29.

Podcasts: Browsing Podcasts is made simple with the Apple TV. You can now watch a full video podcast on your HD TV, instead of using your very small iPod or iPhone Screen.

Photos: Syncing your photos is very easy with the Apple TV. You can sync photos from your Mobile Me or Flikr account. You can even make a custom screen saver out of your photos downloaded onto your Apple TV.

Internet: The Internet feature gives you full access to YouTube and an Internet Radio. Watching YouTube is great on the Apple TV. You can browse by the Featured Videos, Most Viewed, etc. You can even log in to your YouTube account and view your favorite videos.

Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope this review was useful and helped you out.

iPhone App Review: Rock Band

When I saw that Rock Band had a version for the iPhone and iPod Touch, I had to get it; speaking that I love to play it on my PS3. So I bought Rock Band. How does it live up to the console version. Let's find out.

Graphics: 7/10 The graphics were OK. The game has the fretboard that you are used to, but with only four buttons. At the top they had some moving pictures, since thats what they basically are. I would have liked to see like what Rock Band Unplugged for PSP had.

Song selection: 8/10 I liked most of the song selection with songs like "Attack" by 30 Seconds to Mars to songs like "Bad to the Bone" by George Thorogood. The game came with 20 songs, for an iPhone game that is good though. None of those songs fit your likings. EA opened up a Music store so you could buy more songs. The price is 99 cents for one songs.

How the songs sound: 9/10 To see how the game sounded I hooked my iPod Touch up to 3 different songs sounded. The headphones being Bose in-ear headphones, Apple headphones, and Beats by Dr. Dre. The sound was great between all of the pairs of headphones.

Multiplayer: 7/10 I had the chance to play it with 2 of my friends one day. We played over Bluetooth with our iPod's. It was fun. We all played at the same time for one massive score. When I tried out WiFi it was not as good. You log in on your Facebook profile and then you play songs. Later, Rock Band will send you a message telling you how the other people did. I did not like playing on WiFi.

All together: 8/10 The game is worth buying once it drops from 10 USD. But if you can't wait for it to drop in price buy it. One of my major complaints that I did not that I did not talk about being the singing. You should be able to pick if you want to sing the song. But instead you have 4 different pitches to chose from. My only other complaint is the button size. The red and the yellow are to close, that means that I end up missing some of the notes, and I have smaller hands so it's not like I have huge hands. Overall I like the game and find it enjoyable.

Thank you for spending time and reading this.
