Building Your Own Computer.

Today I finally finished my custom PC build. Now, you must take into consideration I've been using the same old computer I bought at Futureshop for a while now and have no real knowledge about computer builds.

At first, I was very hesitant about messing up, plugging in the wrong cords, not having enough air flow or forgetting a simple step such as placing "stand-offs" between the motherboard and the computer case.

I was completely wrong. It was a very fun and rewarding process and actually saved me quite a bit of money. I would definitely recommend building your own PC to anybody who has a budget but wants to get the best out of their money! It's very rewarding in the end when you are looking at it after the first boot-up, with a feeling of accomplishment.

Here's a few specifications:

-Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 32-Bit
-Apveia X-Jupitor G Jr. case
-AMD Phenom 9950 Quad-Core 2.60 Ghz BLACK EDITION (Best for over clocking)
-ATI HD 4670 gfx card
-Corsair 650W Power Supply running more power than an 850W on a single rail :)
-XFX 750a SLI Motherboard
-3 Gigs of RAM
-CD drive from old computer/burner
-298Gb Hard Drive from old computer re-formatted clean

Here's a photo of the complete case

This computer will serve as my main workstation for all my Photography and Photoshop work.

Super Bowl XLIII

Cardinals vs. Steelers

by Robert Holt

After a long day of football the two teams that will battle it out to decide who will be Super Bowl XLIII champions has now been decided.  The surprising Arizona Cardinals will face the powerhouse Pittsburgh Steelers.  Even though the Cardinals have been a surprise so far this post-season, they are far from slouches.

The Cardinals have quite possibly the best WR duo in the entire National Football League.  Starring Pro Bowlers Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin.  Larry Fitzgerald has shown that he is seemingly impossible to cover, even when opposing teams apply double coverage.  Anquan Boldin has been battling serious hamstring problems this entire post-season, however he able to play in the Cardinal's win over the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game.  His status will be updated on daily.  Kurt Warner will be making yet another trip to the big game, however this time ending the second longest playoff drought in North American sport history.  That drought has been passed on from city to city, until the Cardinals finally stayed in Arizona in 1988.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be making their second appearance in the Super Bowl in the last three years, with Ben Roethlisberger at the helm.  This will be Steeler coach, Mike Tomlin's first appearance as head coach, this makes him among the youngest coach ever to make it to the Super Bowl.  While the Cardinals have one of the best offenses in the league, the Steelers sport the best defense in all of the NFL.  Throughout the season the Steelers have shut down opposing teams, allowing less than 100 yards rushing in 14/16 games.  With big name stars as Troy Polomalu and Harrison this team is a defensive juggernaut.  It will be a great matchup against the star-power opposing them on the other side of the field.

Hines Ward who left the AFC championship game in the first quarter with a seemingly sore knee, was unable to return after receiving treatment from the medical staff.  He does however have two weeks to re-cooperate before Super Bowl XLIII which will take place in Tampa.

This game will represent a very high powered offense taking on a very potent shutdown defense.  Predicition: Arizona 24 Pittsburgh 17

Keys to the Game:

Arizona:

-Protecting Kurt Warner from the vicious pass rush of the Steelers.

- Running the ball successfully with Edgerrin James early and often which will set up the play-action pass down the field.

Pittsburgh:

-Shut down Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin.

-Eliminate turnovers.

-Get to Kurt Warner.

Four New iPhone Browsers

It seems that Apple has started to allow different web browsers onto the iPhone. Although, of the four new browsers, I wouldn't say that any of these are a true competitor to Safari. So, it remains to be seen if Apple will allow a full fledged browser like Firefox to make it on the iPhone But, that aside, here is what we have now:

Edge Browser (Free)

This appears to be a rather simple browser that removes the search and address bars from the top of the iPhone to give the user maximum screen real estate.

Incognito ($1.99)

Think of incognito as Private Browsing mode for your iPhone. When using incognito, none of your information (links URL's etc.) are saved.

WebMate: Tabbed Browser ($0.99)

The WebMate browser puts an interesting twist on “tabbed” browsing. What makes this browser unique is how it handles the links that you click on. Basically, instead of loading a new page (as Safari would) this browser loads the links in a queue style, for you to view at your convenience.

Shaking Web ($1.99)

This browser is hoping to catch the attention of those who are constantly on the road. The browser uses the accelerometer in the iPhone to compensate for a slightly shaky hand, keeping text steady on the page.

It remains to be seen whether or not these alternative browsers will gain any traction, but it is interesting to see apple allowing these browsers into the App Store.

Beautiful Texas Sunrise

Well, this mourning I woke up earlier than usual because I had a sore throat and I couldn't sleep. I was then bored at 5 in the mourning so I decided to go outside and take some pictures and a video of the sunrise. It is clearly that the sunrise is rarely seen often. Every once in a while I wake up too early and I go outside and look at the sunrise.

I don't know about you, but I really love sunrises because I get so amused when it comes to bright lights and lots of colors in general. It really amazes me when ever I go see the beautiful blue-orange-yellow skies of the Earth. It gives me sometime to think about how beautiful the world is, well for the most part. So every once in a while, I wake up super early or stay up super late and I watch the sunrise to relax. This was one of those times.

So I got ready, and went outside in the cold weather to document this amazing part of the day. I took a video and I took some pictures. I tried taking pictures with my digital camera, but they didn't turned out so well. Therefore I took pictures with my iPhone 3G, and they actually turned out to be great for a cell phone camera.

Here are some images of the sunrise:

So I hope you enjoy these awesome pictures that were taken with my iPhone 3G.
