Megabus Experience And Review

When I'm traveling long distances, I prefer to travel by way of bus. I've used Greyhound more than a few times and I've been generally satisfied with my experience on their buses. Recently, I decided to try a new service. While searching the web I stumbled across Megabus.com - A cheaper bus service with some extra features like such as free WiFi and flat screen TVs showing movies during your trip.

I decided to give it a try as they were significantly cheaper than Greyhound and with the free WiFi I figured I could get some work done rather than waste six hours sitting on a bus not doing much of anything. My experience on Megabus was not what I'd hoped for. They got me from point A to point B safely, yes, but I do have a list of a few complaints.

The WiFi didn't work at all. I was told by another passenger that it rarely works. In fact, according to him it has only worked twice out of at least ten trips he's taken. The first bus that I rode was dirty and had obviously not been cleaned since the last time it was used. The half melted bar of chocolate in the seat compartment in front of me didn't exactly scream "high quality travel". These are just a couple of the complaints I have about the service but I don't think any of them would keep me from using their service again. They do what a bus service is supposed to do, and do it fairly well. They just seem to have a problem keeping their promises for the extras that are offered.

Able Planet True Fidelity Active Noise Canceling Headphones [NC300B]

I am currently listening to a playlist on my Ipod with the Able Planet True Fidelity Active Noise Canceling Headphones [NC300B] as I write this review. Able Planet has a high quality noise-canceling technology in this particular headphones as well as other headphones in their selection which trust me, is a must have for any music savvy or for anyone who is constantly on the travel.

First off I want to give a big thanks to the guys at Able Planet for sending me a review unit of these headphones, It was really nice of them to do so and I am very grateful of it. Alright so of course you get goodies when you get these headphones.

What's included:

Of course you get the headphones

¼ home Stereo Adapter

1 AAA Battery

Hard Shell Carrying Case

Airplane Adapter

3.5 mm plug with in-line volume control

Okay lets talk about the build first. The headphones feel nice and very comfortable which means you could wear these for hours and really not feel any discomfort The cushions on the headphones are very smooth and soft. Of course you have the adjustable headband with the same cushion padding. On the right ear cushion you have the switch for the active noise cancellation along with the battery placement which is easily hidden with the headband. On the left ear cushion you are able to connect the 3.5 mm plug.

Now the Noise cancellation is something I am sure is on all of your minds and well I gotta say it's real nice. Once you flip the switch while listening to music it simply just seems like the audio gets louder. However without the switch on then your really have to crank the volume up on what ever device you are listening to. What is actually nice is when your really wanting to relax and would like to dim out the outside noise then these headphones do shine. You can just flip the switch and just like that you have silence, now its not completely silent I want to get that straight but the outside noise does significantly dim down. If you on a long car ride, airplane, train, bus (etc) and would like to sit back and relax and perhaps listen to some music then these really are the headphones for you. With Able Planet's LINX AUDIO the audio has a great quality to it. What is nice about LINX AUDIO is the sound seems very balance, the bass is not overrunning the mids and highs everything seems balanced which is great but is a personal preference.

The 3.5mm cord has a nice little feature with the in-line volume control which makes it very easy to control the volume of the sound coming to your headphones. What is nice about the 3.5mm cord is that when and if the cord gets a short you no longer have to replace the headphones but just the cord. Plus the airplane adapter and ¼ home stereo adapter is terrific little add-on you receive with the purchase of the headphones. I unfortunately was not traveling anywhere on plane so I could not tell you about the airplane adapter but for the ¼ adapter I did give a go with a home stereo and a guitar amp which I have to say the headphones still kept a nice balanced sound to everything.

Now I do have some complaints, nothing major by any means. For one you do get a Velcro pouch inside of the hard shell case which is great if your wanting to hold your airplane adapter and ¼ home stereo adapter but it is a pain to put the 3.5mm cord in. However there is a easy fix, in the hard shell case there is plenty of space to tuck the cord inside. Speaking of the hard shell case that is also a complaint I could see someone making. The case is somewhat bulky so if your traveling you got to remember the size of the case if you do plan to bring it. Again these complaints are nothing major at all.

That's all I can say about these headphones. Great pair of headphones that will set you back $149.99 but a great investment. If you want a pair for yourself or would like to check out other Able Planet's products go to http://www.ableplanet.com

Mix-Style Headphones Review

My friend recently bought a pair of Mix-Style Headphones, these are huge in Japan. They took about 2-4 weeks to arrive, but came in a box that was a little crushed because of the not so great packaging that they shipped them in. These ended up being an imitation pair, the real ones retailing for much more than was paid for these. When everything was said and done, these ended up being a wonderful looking accessory that have average sound quality, that of a cheap brand you would find at the store.

Amazon Kindle 3 Review

The Amazon Kindle 3 is one of the most stable ereaders on the market. This is Amazon's third attempt at perfecting the ereader, and I feel that they have done an impressive job. This is not to say that other ereaders aren't any good, I feel that ereaders as a whole are a really neat thing, I just feel that after using the Kindle 3 from Amazon, other ereaders will have to work hard at compeating.

There are many unique features about the Amazon Kindle 3, including it's many great tools that come included with the ereader itself, things that have become a standard for most ereaders. Such as, text-to-speech, changing the font and line spacing, samples, and just released today, book lending. Amazon announced today that Kindle users can now lend many of the books available in the kindle store, depending of course upon the publishers permission.

The kindle is overall a very great ereader that boast many features, and of course the Amazon Kindle Store is a very big plus for those of you who shop on Amazon.com to begin with. It connects to your Amazon account easily, and makes reading, purchasing, and lending books as simple as the push of a button.
