Google Drive Review (Video Included)

Who doesn’t love free file storing and sharing application? Not too long ago we looked into another kind of file storing and sharing service known as Dropbox. It wasn’t one of the best services but it is up there. But later down the road I started to see more and more advertisements for Google Drive (read: what is Google Drive?). Through their applications it looked like nothing more than a bunch of office applications in one program, so I decided to do a little more research into it and found out it was another file storing and sharing service offered by Google.

Dropbox Free Cloud Storage App Review

There has been a lot of problems with sharing files over the past couple of years. Mega upload going down the drain for violating copyright policy and rapid share will most likely follow in the same pit. However when it comes to sharing files it is more than just sharing songs or something like that. It can be sharing important project files that allow for more people to continue work and development on the project until it’s finished. I would like to introduce to you “Dropbox” a free file sharing service that works like a charm.

3 Ways to use WordPress as a Service

There are many ways, and many reasons, why you would want to use WordPress for something other than publishing a blog. Maybe you want a place to keep track of your ideas, somewhere to remember links you find or you simply need an online presence. Anything you can think of you can create.

The fact is that WordPress can be transformed into a powerful personal tool for a huge variety of purposes. I won't go through the whole process of installing and setting up WordPress here.

WordPress as a Service

I've made use of WordPress for different publishing and content sharing tasks but I've also deployed solutions to personal problems built solely from WordPress. I've even built sites from WordPress that are used within organizations to make their communications more efficient in the form of an Intranet.

Pinterest: Curate the Internet with Pictures

Pinterest is a virtual pinboard. Collect the things you love” That about sums it up. Pinterest is one of those well known unknowns. A lot of people use it and love it but there are also a lot of people that don’t know anything about it.

Pinterest is a personalized pinboard on the web. The premise behind it is to “pin” pictures on your “board” that you create. You can create boards of any category; Technology, Cars, Architecture, Wedding photos, etc. and then pin pictures you find to the corresponding board. Really all it is is eye candy that you can collect on your personal board.

You have the opportunity to follow people. This will make every picture they “pin” show up in the main area where you will spend most of your time. The whole page is filled with pictures that people have pinned. If you see one you like, go ahead and “repin” it to one of your boards (similar to retweeting). You are not limited to the pictures you find on the site itself. Pinterest has a feature in the form of a bookmarks bar button that allows you to pin any picture from anywhere on the web. You will be prompted to put the feature right in your bar upon sign up. When you are on a site and see a picture you want to pin, just click that bookmark button and you will be taken through a short, easy process for pinning.

Let’s go into some more detail about boards. This is an aggregation of pictures you pin. Say you have a technology board. All the pictures you find and like about technology can be pinned to that board. Pinterest can be used other than for eye candy. For example: My sister has a board called “Wedding ideas” She searches hours and hours, looking at picture after picture of wedding ideas and if she finds something she likes and wants to use in her wedding she will pin it for safe keeping. She can then come back to this board when planning her wedding.

I know it sounds a little pointless but give it a chance. You’ll be pinning all night long. It’s actually quite addicting. It’s just a large aggregation of pictures about every category under the sun that you can collect to show your personality. The service is hard to explain, just sign up and give it a try. It’s a really unique and fun experience.

Megabus Experience And Review

When I'm traveling long distances, I prefer to travel by way of bus. I've used Greyhound more than a few times and I've been generally satisfied with my experience on their buses. Recently, I decided to try a new service. While searching the web I stumbled across Megabus.com - A cheaper bus service with some extra features like such as free WiFi and flat screen TVs showing movies during your trip.

I decided to give it a try as they were significantly cheaper than Greyhound and with the free WiFi I figured I could get some work done rather than waste six hours sitting on a bus not doing much of anything. My experience on Megabus was not what I'd hoped for. They got me from point A to point B safely, yes, but I do have a list of a few complaints.

The WiFi didn't work at all. I was told by another passenger that it rarely works. In fact, according to him it has only worked twice out of at least ten trips he's taken. The first bus that I rode was dirty and had obviously not been cleaned since the last time it was used. The half melted bar of chocolate in the seat compartment in front of me didn't exactly scream "high quality travel". These are just a couple of the complaints I have about the service but I don't think any of them would keep me from using their service again. They do what a bus service is supposed to do, and do it fairly well. They just seem to have a problem keeping their promises for the extras that are offered.
