My Top 5 Safari Extensions

Recently at WWDC, Apple updated their web browser Safari with some new features. The best new feature in my opinion was the addition of extensions. Extensions provide a better user experience. Before the addition of extensions in Safari, I used Google Chrome as my primary browser.

Extensions used to be why people used Firefox. Overall, I don't really like Firefox anymore since Safari has extensions. I think the addition of extensions now makes Safari the best web browser out there.

What do you think about the extensions I spoke about today? Would you consider downloading them? Do you think you will like them? Please leave a text response below. For more content, please be sure to visit my YouTube channel

September iPod Touch Most Likely Without a Rear-Camera

iPod Touch (left) iPhone 4 rear camera (right)

Many rumors have been surfacing the web lately suggesting that we may see a rear-facing camera in the September release of the 4th generation iPod Touch. I'll confirm it right now- we aren't going to see one unless Apple makes some major design changes to this new iPod Touch.

This shouldn't be a surprise to you. Steve Jobs even told the New York Times why:

I also asked him why the Nano can record video, but can't snap still photos. That reason, he said, is technical: the sensors you need to record video are extremely thin these days -- thin enough to fit into the wafer-thin Nano. But the ones with enough resolution for stills, especially with autofocus (like the sensor in the iPhone), are much too thick to cram into a player that's only 0.2 inches thick.

At the WWDC, where iPhone 4 was released, Steve Jobs said they would ship 10s of millions of FaceTime devices. This was clealy hinting that the iPod Touch will include a camera. A front-facing camera that is.

If Apple did want to include a rear-camera on the iPod Touch, we would see a thicker, more squared-off design. Apple is also known for surprises as well. We could also see some new type of technology introduced that allows for a thinner rear- camera. Time will tell. What are your thoughts? Are you expecting a front facing or rear facing camera? Or both?

WWDC Overview

WWDC is an annual conference that is run by Apple in San Francisco. And like usual, Apple introduced one new version of their main product line. This was the iPhone's time to receive an update on WWDC. Here we will post a quick overview of what happened during WWDC, and then my personal thoughts about the event.

Steve Jobs walked on stage wearing his usual black shirt and blue jeans. He started the conference talking about the iPad, and giving us some numbers. He said that the iPad has sold over than 2 million units in 8 weeks. That's incredible for a device that many people used to hate and say it wouldn't be successful. Then he announced that iBooks could read PDF files. That's when the fun began, and Steve Jobs started talking about the iPhone. He presented the "brand new" iPhone 4, and highlighted the 9 main features. These features were:

  • The brand new design
  • Retina display
  • New processor (Apple A4 Chip)
  • Gyroscope
  • Better Camera (With 720p video recording)
  • iBooks
  • iAds
  • FaceTime (Video calling for Apple)
  • iOS 4 (With many new features)

In my opinion, it was a great event, especially for the developers that can now use these great new features to produce various apps. So concluding, the new iPhone 4 is not revolutionary, but it changes everything... All over again.

Will the iPhone 4 be successful?

Today was a keynote day. We were so nervous for this. Today at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA, Steve Jobs took the stage and he revealed a lot of new things, but the most beautiful, the iPhone 4.

You can read all the specs on it in the other posts that we have been writing. We even posted a video about it, but my question is: Will it be successful? In my opinion, the hardware is gorgeous and the software (iOS 4) is the best OS in the world, but for some people, they wanted something new, something with more features.

I want to make you remember something, and that being Apple is probably the best company in the world, and we think it can make everything, because they have us accustomed to the best technology. Maybe we are wanting more than the future. At least Apple is just a company like Google or Microsoft.

iPhone 4: The Facts

There was a lot of hype as to what new features will be included in apples new innovative iPhone and apple did not fail to deliver. The new “iPhone 4” was released today (7th June 2010) at the WWDC, from the moment it was revealed it had many peoples jaw dropping. The phone has had a complete re-design which brings even more elegance and class to the iPhones name, the front and back of the phone has two glass panels which Apple claims is 30x harder than plastic. Also on the exterior of the iPhone is a stainless steel ring which gives the phone a more rigid frame, as well as acting as an antenna.

Another great feature apple have announced is their “Retina Display” which is the highest quality screen ever put into a phone boasting 320 pixels per inch. Also new is a 5.0 megapixel camera with an LED flash; this is a great advance as one of the previous iPhones let downs was its camera. It also has a front facing camera which can be used for video calling or as apple have called it “Face Time”, this is not such a great feature as apple have lead us to believe, as this type of technology has been around for a while.

Video recording was only introduced to the iPhone line when the “3gs” came out although the iPhone 4 records full 720p High definition video which can easily be edited on the iPhone using iMovie.  This adds great value to the iPhone and is sure to make it a great seller.

All in all the iPhone 4 is set to be a great success with some great new features such as its “Retina display” just reiterating how good apple are at surprising us and showing the endless capabilities of technology. The release of this phone is sure to get all other companies working hard to design and develop a rival to it which can only be a good thing. In my opinion I believe the iPhone 4 is great and I am sure to be spending my money on one.
