Chrome Apps: Episode 1 (YTVD)

While browsing through the Chrome Web Store I found the app “YouTube Video Deck”. It looked pretty interesting so I decided to take a closer look at it. I downloaded the app and started to mess with it. Through the screenshot that was provided at the app store, it was a column based design similar to tweet deck. I didn’t know if the app was for the content feed or just the videos. I will say this much, I was thoroughly impressed with the YouTube Video Deck. When you first install the application you are asked to log into your YouTube account. Once you do that you will be guided to add your subscriptions to a column so that you

Instalyrics for iOS Review

Instalyrics

Is it just me, or do artists these days have a serious case of mush-mouth? While it used to be an occasional problem that a lyrics was misheard, now it had become a really common occurrence. Most music seems to have at least one clear line, and I could name a dozen songs off the top of my head that somehow manage to make the chorus unclear.

Photoshop Lesson: Editing with Adjustment Layers

Yes I know it has been a while since I wrote anything for the site. But don’t worry; I come barring a helpful video for those who want to learn some cool tricks with Photoshop. I won’t go into detail on my absence, but I am glad to be back.

In this video I will show you how to use a cool little feature called “Adjustment layers”. What are adjustment layers? They are layers that are considered to be filter effects with a masking ability. Meaning you can fix the image through a separate layer without having to use the undo feature so many times. Why is this helpful? Your history on Photoshop only goes back so far. Once you reach the limit of the undo button, there is only so much you can do.

Not only does this make adding and removing effects so much easier, but it also provides an excellent end result. There is a catch, to use this feature you need to have the brush tool selected. From there you only use two colors. Black and white. One removes the effect and the other adds the effect back.

There will be more videos like this to come. In fact the next video will be handling some image fixing tools.
