Is the iPad more like a Mac, or an iPhone?-UPDATED

I'm sure the question has already been asked. I am here to answer it. I'm correlating all the ways the iPad is like a Mac, and all the ways it is like an iPhone.

Aspects shared by the iPad and Mac:

• When purchased, you are given the option to recycle your own computer
• Runs iWork full-fledged
• Can be mailed in for repair (MacBooks are the only Macs that can be mailed in)
• LED Display
• Has file syncing/sharing/downloading capabilities
• Has 802.11n WiFi

Aspects shared by the iPad and iPhone:

• An App Store
• The UI (The iPad UI is a bit more rich, and user-friendly)
• Is synced to a computer
• No user-accessible file system
• Two-year AppleCare extended warranty (suggested by MacFusionGirl, thanks!)

Why Android Will Ultimately Fail

Android has some impressive features. It can run multiple apps at once, supports the 1GHz Nexus One, and overlays demographic data onto a map.

And that is precisely why they'll fail.

If you are a geek, you may want more out of the iPhone or the iPad. You want the ability to customize the UI, run multiple apps at once, and download apps that may or may not be damaging to the core services of your phone. All these things must be done with some knowledge of how technology works; how processors deal with tasks, for example. If you are running multiple apps, you'll need to figure out which app is a CPU hog, and quit it. This is easy if you're a geek. But, if you're an average user, this may be incredibly hard to comprehend.

The 1984 Mac introduced the GUI. The GUI revolutionized computers… It let users run a computer without extensive knowledge of how it actually works… no need to know any command line whatsoever. The iPhone is doing that with cell phones. It's simplifying the cell phone. Yet, making it more powerful. So you don't have to deal with a task manager on a mobile device.

Happy Birthday Steve!

It's February 24, 2010. That means that Steve Jobs celebrates his 55th birthday today.

I'd like to personally wish the guy a Happy Birthday, and that I hope he continues to churn out the great iProducts. I'm loving every little bit of them!!

No one has a track record like that of Steve Jobs, who has worked to revolutionize the computer, music, phone, and now tablet/portable computer market.

I'm not sure, though, if the ten billionth song downloaded on his birthday was a coincidence or not. Can anyone say conspiracy?
