FireFox Addons for Better Readability

Readability on websites is getting worse and worse. Maybe that is because people are putting less effort into their layouts, but I think it is the wider emphasis on advertisement. We all know the popular marketing tools, like calls to action and inner-post linking done on blogs. While usually it is done with a certain amount of restraint, there are those webmasters who go way overboard.

Of course, they have every right to do so. They are offering a free service, and they have to make a living and increase their own traffic. But when it detracts from the readability of the post, you have a serious problem. Since it isn't just small blogs having this issue, it is also a problem you are sure to notice. I never fail to be amazed by how many so-called "professional"sources are nearly unreadable.

While you can lodge a complaint with the site, it isn't likely to make a difference. So if you want to read these blogs and sources, but you don't want a headache, try one of these cool readability extensions for Firefox.

HOW TO Use Youtube as a Web Radio

Web Radio

My computer is in my dining room, steps away from my kitchen (my place is tiny), which is awesome for one reason: music. While doing the dishes, laundry in the adjoining laundry room or cooking, I can have my tunes playing in the background. It makes things go by much faster, not to mention makes them way more enjoyable in general.

Sometimes I will use my own music that I own for this purpose, and sometimes I will use a site like 8Tracks or Last.fm to get the job done. But to be honest, none of those options generally does it for me. I prefer to have my choice of music, that I can find depending on my mood, and entirely control. Who doesn't prefer both choice and limitless options at their disposal?

FireFox Addons for Enhanced Youtube Experience

I am a big fan of YouTube, just like anyone in the world who has a computer and even a somewhat reliable net connection. It is just an addicting site, with thousands of hours of video uploaded each month from some amazing submitters. Even amateurs have gained a serious legitimacy through this social media miracle, and it is one of the best examples of the power to reach global viewers in the world today.

That being said, you don't always want to have to search through the myriad of less impressive videos, random clips and bizarre uploads to find what you want. Or even to go to the main site to view content in the first place. In a time when productivity is everything, it helps to have a couple of apps that allow you to search and view YouTube videos in a more efficient way.

Firefox has really gone the distance in this regard. Many developers have created addons that enhance the YouTube experience, all with simple but impressive programs that offer unique features not provided by the main site. Even YouTube itself has gotten in on the action and created their own.

Here are five great addons that will make your YouTube viewing even better.

1. YouTube MP3 Podcaster

Podcasts, music and commentaries have a special place on YouTube. But some are not so easy to view off of the site, which is a problem. Especially if you just want a song or lecture, and you don't want the (often redundant) video that comes with it. This addon works by letting you download it in an MP3 format, effectively stripping away the visuals and offering a clean audio clip that you can then upload to devices like Zune and iPod. It even has a clipper to allow you to remove anything unwanted, like dead air, intros and ads.

2. Easy YouTube Video Downloader
