The Microsoft Kinect's Impact and Future

Microsoft's Kinect attachment for the Xbox 360 was a very anticipated gadget of the holiday season, that had a lot of money put into it. Microsoft had created extensive and enormous advertisements for the Kinect. Every since the demonstration of the Kinect at E3 there has been ample amount of hype put into it. Some critics believed that is was destined for failure and a waste of money. Others thought it was just another Wii. Personally I had no idea what to think.

Being a geek, the concept of full body motion tracking liberated excitement in me. Then a part of me could never imagine of playing a video game without a controller in my hand. Of course I had to test this out for myself. I walked into a Best buy later that week to see the Kinect in all of its makeup.

I must say that the Kinect instantly immersed me with its simple but yet so intuitive user interface. Almost like they only got it right with the Xbox and not the PC. But that is a whole other topic.

Even though I was just playing their basic Kinect Adventures game, it still amazed me with the full body tracking concept. I was actually breaking a sweat in the game. The games were not very complicated, but did not have to be. I had water seeping in places that I was not use to and balls flying all over my body.

The Kinect had graphics that absolutely killed the Wii and overall game play that was ten times better than the PS3 Move.

As for the critics, they were absolutely amazed with what the Kinect was capable of. It only took a few weeks for developers to come out with custom software for their computer that the Kinect was attached to. This software did a variety of things like using it to direct the blind, flying a robot that could maneuver through obstacles, operate a moveable recliner chair that utilized the upper body for gestures.

The Kinect has proven to be much more than a simple accessory for the Xbox 360. The advanced technology built within the sensor itself can provide the grounds for many new dynamic innovations to come. Once the Kinect's SDK beta comes out May 16th, who knows what developers will do.

Rumor: PC Games to Support Kinect Hardware

There has been a rumour going around about PC games supporting the Xbox 360's revolutionary hardware accessory, Kinect. For those of you who are not familiar what Kinect is, basically it is a hardware accessory for controller-less gameplay. However, there are only a few games that currently support the functionality of this hardware.

A Korean PC game developer, GamePrix, has released a game called "Divine Souls" and claims that it will support the functionalities of the Kinect in the future. This might be the first time that we hear about PC Games supporting Kinect and Microsoft has not yet confirmed if this is a true possibility. It is also possible that GamePrix may have been mistaken or got a misleading information from someone inside Microsoft.

Even though this news might be very exciting for all the PC gamers out there, they shouldn't hold their breath because Microsoft has not yet confirmed its possibility. Are any of you looking forward to this? Or do you think this will be a redundant move made by Microsoft? Post your thoughts on the comments section.

My Xbox 360 collection is bigger than my my Nintendo Wii collection. I'm not going to list the games that I own because you can watch the video for that. So, please refer to the video above. Have a nice day!

An Ever-Changing Game

We all know Modern Warfare 2. We've all played and at some point enjoyed it. The truth is, however, that Modern Warfare 2 was NOT what everyone anticipated. Remember the javelin glitches? Sure, Infinity Ward fixed that, but look what came next! More and more glitches that could have been easily avoided if Infinity Ward had just released a beta! Obviously, the game isn't as glitched up as it used to be, but seriously, Infinity Ward could have made a really great game if they just were a little smarter.

Let's move on to the DLC. I'm not gonna lie, I bought the Stimulus Map Pack myself. Everyone complained about the price when it was first released; everyone said they wouldn't buy it. Guess what? People still did buy it! The only people that are being STIMULATED are Activision and Infinity Ward. I know I like to just rant about insignificant issues but hey, it's just the way I am.
