Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Review

I'm sure that most of you have played the game Modern Warfare 2 in some way at one time. I'm sure you had a fun time, but you were most likely on the multiplayer. This is a huge game with probably one of the best multiplayers around. That does not mean that it is a perfect multiplayer, nor does it mean that it is always fun.

Not to be mean, but Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer is like a kid with acne. You know that he is nice and cool, but you can tell that it has some problems. The multiplayer is this kid with oxy pads trying to wipe away the acne that comes back. It is like using patches to fix problems, but new ones will always arise. I do love this multiplayer, but some time I feel like a nerd getting beat up by a big bully. It hurts, and it makes you mad.

First, the spawning system is not terrible, but it does have a lot of issues. With the complex engine on Modern Warfare 2, it is hard to create a spawn system on these maps. I give them a decent grade because most other spawn designers would do a worse job. This is partially due to the maps limiting spawn points with structures and natural obstructions. It is not that big of a deal, and you will get over it. You might be able to deal with it if you are not a half bad player.

The next issue is camping. This is a scapegoat if you are doing bad, but some of the time, it is an actual problem. "The campers can be anywhere and everywhere." is a quote by the YouTuber Chromebandit. He doesn't have a problem with it, and these people choose to sit in a corner and not have fun. My point is, play how you want to play because it is just a video game. Sometimes, you can't avoid camping with Demolition. There is one bomb site left, and where else could the other team go?

These are just two of some of the major problems, but another highly disputed ones is the killstreaks. They are said as being overpowered, but I personally believe they are not a big deal. The stinger is an easy kill for almost any killstreaks, and with coordination, you can take down ac AC-130 in about 20 seconds. That is all I have to say on this because this is really dependent of you and your team.

Another issue is the overpowering of weapons, but this again goes back to that it is your choice how to play, and you can't force them to change. Unless, they are completely ruining the game, then you can have fun. If they are, just leave and go into another lobby, or have fun with your friends in a private match.

I just wanted to discuss the issues, but this game is fun overall, and I totally love it. It really didn't matter to me if it won GOTY, but it wasn't really my choice. This game is great for having fun with your friends or rocking it in a lobby full of randoms. It was built great for having fun, and I hope that you guys have a fun time with it.

I would have to give this game 9 out of 10 stars because it is an overall good game and Infinity Ward is working to get it fixed.

Theres always one..

Gaming is one of the biggest things since the 90's, and there is 3 main competitors which are Sony (PS3), Nintendo (Wii) and Microsoft (XBOX). One thing this blog post isn't going to do is make an argument between gamers, as many gamers own all of the 3 above consoles.

On the market right now, Sony and Nintendo have more consoles on the market, for Sony the PS3 and PSP and for Nintendo the Wii and DSi, but what about Microsoft. Microsoft already have their vintage XBOX console, but what a handheld from Microsoft? Well, you could say that one of their 'netbooks' are one of their takes on the handheld console, but please, you can't game on the netbook. Maybe a laptop, but its about 3-4 times bigger than Sony and Nintendo handhelds. So, c'mon Microsoft, where is your handheld? Is it still being featured on Engadget as 'coming soon' or many Youtube videos being made about it, and what it'll look like, what it'll do etc.

Instead of making new Windows operating systems, get a XBOX handheld console out on the market. But, don't come up with the excuse of "Well, Sony has a powerful console (PS3) and a nice unique handheld (PSP)" If Sony and Nintendo can enter the market like that, you can Microsoft!

Xbox 360 Wireless Headset - Review

I recently picked up the Wireless Headset for the Xbox 360 due to my two wired headsets being broken, at first I was a little cautious about getting it after reading a few review dotted around Amazon and places of such. However I decided just to go for it, the wireless headset obviously provides you with the ‘wireless’ feature, which I’m sure a lot of you love – so now feel I’ve used it enough to provide a respectable, honest review on it. The unit itself is rather compact, it has the ear piece and the microphone, which is just a few inches long - rather than the long flexible wired version, the ear piece has 3 buttons located on the side; The up and down volume keys and the on/off and mute button.

Upon first opening the Wireless Headset it’s going to need a good charge. It comes with a recharge cable, which connects, to the Xbox 360 via USB; the charging port is located at one end of the Headset. The headset comes with 2 earpiece fixtures a small and medium. I used the small as the medium is rather generous, when first adjusting the headset to your comfort zone it is a little awkward, in a sense that it feels like it will fall off, at first I felt I had put it on the wrong way, the headset it made to fit your right ear, it feels strange when on your left. The microphone comes a little down your face, well away from your mouth - you may think that this will make your audio very poor, but doesn’t. When fully charged the Headset will last a good couple of days. The audio that comes through the earpiece is very impressive, its clear and the volume controls make it more than easy to get the headset to a comfortable audio quality. One thing that I do find a little difficult and getting used to is the mute, on the wired headset it is very simple to mute and un-mute the headset by a flick of a switch located on the controller, however on the Wireless headset the mute button is on the center of the ear piece this is really annoying if your in a intense active game you will find muting the mic most annoying.

When using the headset for a long period of time - in which I mean ‘without’ a break, you feel weird feeling in your ear, kind of like mild ear ache, not sure what that is all about but it is not enough to make you stop using it - just a slight feeling. When syncing the headset to your controller you have to press the sync button on the headset and the Xbox 360 - not the controller that was the mistake I made, when you do that it will sync to the first free controller.

Overall this headset is really good if you like your equipment wireless - it tidies up your gaming experience, its also good if you’re the type of gamer that likes to talk without muting. The price is a little expensive for what you get but seems okay, as I’ve bought two wired headsets that add up to one wireless. If your doubting on whether to get one just go for it, it’s a good little gadget.
