Stumble Upon

Today we’re going to be looking at a free to use application from the Windows 8 app store called “Stumble Upon”. What this application does is keep track of all of your interests and brings up multiple websites and articles based on that interest. All of this is displayed within a good looking tile based environment. From here, if you find something you like or are interested in you can like and share the post to all of your social networking accounts with just a click of a button. Aside from that, the next best thing we can talk about it the tiles and things within the environment itself.

Theme Forest: Web Template Service

Theme Forest is a web template design service that allows you to purchase a design or theme with a license allowing you to use the theme for a business or service based web site. Essentially this is for those people who know how to code really well in HTML, but doesn’t feel strong in the designing portion of web design. Or in contrast it can be for the web designer to plan out the theme of the website while being able to get a web programmer to make the web site functional for those as well. One of the many talents this site offers is WordPress themes. One of the hassles of using a Windows computer has to defrag your computer on a regular basis. Programming Tutorials Windows App

Today we’re going to be looking into a Windows application called “Programming Tutorials”. This application helps people understand programming by teaching them through a visual method or a “Do as I do” method. Having various kinds of instructors and different ways of teaching, this application allows for a variety of categories on different kinds of programming languages. For example, Ruby, Python, C++, C#, or even HTML is covered in its own category to make it easier for navigation. So if you are able to learn better through someone teaching you while watching and mimicking their actions, give this application a try. It’s very organized and can be helpful to anyone who is wanting to learn a programming language.  

Night Lighter & Browser Quest

Finally I decided to look at Microsoft’s application store for something entertaining or just for something  to toy around with. I found two things in particular that caught my attention and those two things are Night Lighter, and Browser Quest. Both are games and are pretty simple to understand and play. Both use just the mouse as a controller, but one is more fun than the other. First we are going to take a look into the game “Night lighter” because of the cute flame character for the icon caught my attention first.
