Dropping My iPod Touch In Water!

Ahhh! Why would I do this to my precious iPod Touch, which cost me $200? Well, I can feel safe and collected dropping my iPod in the sink... as long as it have the Otterbox Armor case on it! Here is a quick demo of this case in action-

Steve Jobs - My Epiphany

As many of us know, Steve Jobs made his first public appearance at the Apple event on Wednesday. This was after months of leave due to a liver transplant. To my surprise, Steve actually took a few minutes to address the issue. In that time, I actually felt a lot of emotion. I was thrilled to see him there more then anything. And, while he was looking rather thin, his spirits seemed high. But, I learned much more about Steve from his words, and body language then anything else.

I can't speak for everyone, but I see Mr. Jobs as an icon, and to some extent… an idol. I think he is truly one of the great minds of our time, and that goes beyond Apple products. He is one of the best businessmen/salesperson on the planet. I honestly believe if Steve Jobs endorsed a sock, people would flock to it. He just has that way. And, when you add in the Apple products, it is taken up to another level.

I think the rumors are somewhat true; Steve Jobs puts on the market only things he would use. And, while the perfection of Apple products can be debated… there is absolutely no question that Steve himself is a perfectionist. Which is what made the first three minutes of the keynote the most interesting for me.

For the first time, I feel I saw a different side of Steve Jobs. Vulnerable, but not weak; Honest, yet not revealing. It really was one of the first times that I have realized, just how great Steve Jobs really is. It was in those three minutes that  I saw that he was more than just the CEO of a technology company.

For some reason, seeing Steve talk about his health, helped me see once again, that Apple is not a great company by chance. It is successful because of the people behind the company. And from now on… when I think of Steve Jobs, I will not see him as the Apple CEO. Instead, I will see him as one of the most interesting, smart people of our time. Because; regardless of how much of a perfectionist he may be… he is an average person, with an above average understanding of the business world.

"Where's my camera?"

After yesterday's event, the world has bombarded the Cupertino company with everything from questions to complaints regarding the absence of a camera added to the iPod touch line. While the iPod touch recieved a drastic price drop, new GPU, and updated OS, there still isn't a camera. To our surprise, Apple introduced a tiny little video camera on the Nano line. So what's up?

Steve was prompted immediately after the event, when he told vlogger and columnist David Pogue that the iPod touch is in the "gaming" market, and lowering the price offered the most inexpensive route to the App Store.

While we may not all agree with Apple's decision, I can say that I'm confident a camera will show up on the iPod touch in the near future. Stay tuned.

Apple Is Already Cutting Prices

With the iPod Even only a few hours away, Apple is already slashing prices on the iPod Touch line for a release of a new line. As you can see, the iPod Touch 8GB is now $189, the 16GB is $249 and the 32GB model is $279 on Apple's Online Store.

As well as the iPod Nanos, which may be getting refreshed.

And we can't forget the iPod Classic. This is a sure sign that new iPods will be arriving today!

Why kill the Classic?

As many of you know Apple's September 9th event is tomorrow and will probably feature some refinements to Apple TV and the iMac's. One known fact is that they will update the iPod lineup to a more sexy lineup of music listening devices. The iPod touch rumored to have a camera, and the nano with more abilities and memory as well. But what about the Classic? Rumors have it that Apple will "kill" the Classic and move away from one of the original iPod designs since 2001 when they were first released. I say, " Don't kill the Classic" because

1. It will start moving the defintion of iPod's to a more mobile device with more features like an iPhone rather than it's original intention of music.

2. It's the Classic, it was the first iPod ever built and it will make the old fashion mac or apple fanboy's upset that Apple will move away from the revolutionary product that it is.

3. What is wrong with the Classic? It has the capacity to hold 30,000 songs and 150 hours of video, which is nearly four times the capacity of the 32 gig iPod Touch.

So here's my point, for all you iPod users and new iPod users, if you love music and love watching movies and TV shows, why would you get rid of the one product that does that the best?
