Could Bing Overtake Google?

Bing is a search engine that was made to compete with Google, Yahoo and other notable search engines. This was big news for Microsoft and the tech industry. However, many non-techys dont even know what Bing is. Microsoft aired many adds for Bing but they were somewhat meaningless and boring. After watching the add several times I still didn't know what Bing was.

I honestly dont think that Bing will ever catch on. Everyone, and I mean everyone uses Google. Why change? Google is a great search engine, quite possibly the best in the world. I use Google all the time and have it bookmarked within my browser. Why go to the trouble to change that bookmark to Bing when Google works perfectly fine. I think the main point in why most people won't change from Google to Bing is because Google works seamlessly with no trouble. Why try to fix something that isn't broken?

Many people, including myself, have given Bing a fair chance. But when your using Bing, you realize something... It's not Google!

Final Verdict: Bing will not overtake Google.

Bad News Google

As the one of the best search engines comes up with a great new idea, it gets shut down! After about a week after Google announced a little something called Google Voice, instead of huge celebration, they get a huge let down. Google announced the application Google V a few days ago, with the intentions of maybe bringing some iPhone users to use this Google service. But instead, they get nothing. Apple declined the application in hopes of spreading it worldwide after the most populated country of China received their iPhone earlier this week. Some say it was the bad boy AT&T who made Apple decline the app because it would decrease their income on their very expensive plans. On top of the no go on the application, Microsoft, their arch rival signed a deal with Yahoo, another top hitter in the search engine industry. Microsoft now has Bing as well as Yahoo on their side of the table, and on top of all that, the Google stock itself is at its lowest its been all month. So please Apple, let Google have their limelight and let the application go through, and leave AT&T to themselves and go to Verizon.

How To Get Tethering on Your iPhone

At Apple's WWDC, they officially announced the 3.0 software update with cut, copy, and paste, tethering, spotlight search, and MMS. Unfortunately it only took AT&T a few days to ruin the hopes and dreams of the 3.0 users with the announcement that they wouldn't support MMS or tethering in the U.S until late summer. Fortunately, some people have found a way around this situation. If you have an iPhone 3g or 3gs and would like tethering before the people over AT&T come out with an extra 25 dollars on your data plan follow these steps:

1. Grab your iPhone

2. Type help.benm.at/help.php in your iPhone in browser

3. Once open, scroll down the webpage and click on the Mobileconfigs download.

4. Scroll down the page until you get to your country

5. Click on your service provider, if in U.S click either AT&T or T-Mobile

6. Install the item from the page

7. Once done click the done button into your settings

8. Go to general, then network, scroll down to internet tethering, and you can switch your settings from their in your settings.

It has so far worked for me, and I have an iPhone 3gs, if it doesn't, contact me at krainess@yahoo.com and I will provide some assistance. I cant assure anyone that AT&T wont slap a huge data bill on you but so far I haven't received any huge bill yet. MMS should be available at the end of summer and a tutorial should follow with that opening.

Palm Pre, Coming To Verizon?

The Palm Pre was released with Sprint in the summer of 2009, 13 days before Apple released their new iPhone, iPhone 3gs. With it's legendary Linux based operating system where you can run many applications at the same time, such as Twitter, weather, messaging, and browser, its almost impossible not to like this phone. Is it too irresistible? Yesterday, Verizon said they are most likely going to add the Palm Pre to their smartphone lineup in the year 2010, rumors have also gone around that the Apple iPhone would also be added to the Verizon lineup, if so, Verizon would be the industry's hardest hitter with two of the greatest mobile devices around in the market today. The question is, is Apple willing to go to Verizon if it's arch rival is their also, does the iPhone want to be in it's own spotlight with AT&T, and if Verizon does get these two magnificent mobile devices, what will behold for the future of the phone industry?
