Word Rush iPhone Social Game Review

There are several word games on Facebook, but they are getting a little stale, don't you think? I am pretty sick of Words With Friends (we reviewed their Scramble with Friends earlier), which doesn't hold any challenge for me anymore. Which is what sent me looking for a new game that could offer me something more difficult. I found it in the fun app, Word Rush.

Manage Your Social Media Data on Desktop: SocialFolders

The computer is more than just a piece of technology. It is the hub of which all of life's business seems to be conducted. Even mobile devices are synced to a computer of some description, and so everything that we use is generally thrust into various folders on our desktop and through online profiles.

For myself, it is the online profiles that hold the majority of my data. I have a Dropbox, Photobucket, Google Docs, Evernote and various other accounts. Not to mention my social media profiles, which are numerous and very well used.

How To Block Adverts on Facebook & Youtube

Blocking adverts on Facebook & Youtube is just as easy as blocking other ads on the internet. Simply Install and activate Adblock Plus.

The kinds of adverts you see on Youtube and Facebook are very different. On Youtube you get some banners, overlay adverts and video adverts. The video adverts are short videos played before content, I often find they are actually the same adverts I see on TV! The overlay adverts pop-up a little way into the video, can either be text or banner and obscure the video. That's exactly the kind of advert, one that obscures the content, that is explicitly forbidden in the Adblock Plus acceptable ads policy. Luckily all 3 of the ad types on Youtube get blocked by default with APB.

Facebook Adverts are something altogether different, they have 7 standard formats and many more supplemental formats. Blocking all of those is a bit more complicated, luckily Adblock and their awesome community have you covered.

How To Make A Group On Facebook + What To Do With It

If you are still within Facebook Matrix, you are likely to be wondering what is a group and what is a page. Facebook has kind of turned on their group feature in the last two years. Apparently deciding it wasn't cool anymore, they stopped pushing groups and started pushing pages instead. Which was a shame for those of us who prefer the many features available to a group that aren't compatible with pages. Or just had old groups that were deleted in favor of the new platform.

Thankfully, they haven't axed groups altogether. You can still create a great one, and users are just as likely to join them as they ever would. Perhaps even more so now, as they are more insulated than pages that require nothing more than a like. You can even make your group secret so not even the title of it shows on your profile.
