AppFeast is a new monthly segment in my channel where I give a preview of 3 noteworthy apps that follow a common theme. August's theme is food games. Be sure to watch all the way through the video for a little something extra at the end!
Apple may be forced to delay the iPad 3 release date to 2012 over concerns of the high-resolution Retina display.
You may be in the market for an iPad 2 case, or perhaps you're just curious about what the different kinds of iPad 2 cases in the market are. Here is a review of the SwitchEasy CARA Hybrid iPad 2 Case. In my opinion, it is one of the best, if not the best, iPad 2 cases out at this point. It has a beautiful design that is as textured as it looks. It comes in multiple colors, some that are even split into two colors for the front panel and back. It also includes a nice group of extras such as a screen protector (I found it created too many bubbles), two stands (one black and one white), and plugs for the headphone jack spot and the charging spot.
The lock and unlock function is included with this case. Just be sure to order the Hybrid version for that. To my knowledge, SwitchEasy only makes and ships the Hybrid versions now because of too many complaints about the old versions that didn't include the lock and unlock functions. I hope this review of one of the best cases in the market was helpful.
Tonight the long wait to jailbreak the iPad 2 ended with comex releasing Jailbreakme 3.0. Jailbreakme.com, the easiest jailbreak ever, returns! If you followed the drama over the weekend a version of this jailbreak was leaked. Comex rushed to finish this jailbreak so for now it only works with iOS 4.3.3. That's no problem as most iPad 2's are on 4.3.3 and if not just update in iTunes. Once on iOS 4.3.3 be sure to sync your iPad 2 with iTunes and backup any photos. Lastly, save your SHSH blob with Tiny Umbrella (if that doesn't make sense just watch the video as it takes only 5 minutes). This jailbreak is super fast and easy. Just goto jailbreakme.com on your iPad 2 and tap the free button followed by a tap of the green install button. In one minute you'll have Cydia. I for one will stay on 4.3.3 when iOS 5 is released this Fall. Even though Apple once again implemented some of the best jailbreak apps (like LockInfo), they still are missing a lot. Excuse me while I drink some more coffee and continue to geek out my iPad 2. It's like I got a new device tonight :)
