iPhone 4 Press Conference July 16th @ 10am

If you haven't been informed by now, the iPhone 4 suffers from signal issues due to the location of the antenna. Yesterday, Apple announced the scheduling of an emergency conference regarding the iPhone 4 dated for July 16th at 10am (local times located at the bottom of this post). Apple has not been particular with what this conference is regarding, but it has been assumed that the topic is based on the iPhone 4's antenna issues. This would come as no surprise considering the ton of bad press that the iPhone has received due to this problem.

In this video I discuss my opinion and predictions toward the iPhone 4 press conference that will be held tomorrow morning.

The following post is sponsored by sellmymobile.com.

Mobile Phone Recycling – Getting Cash Back For Your Old Mobile Phones

SellMyMobile.com is an established mobile phone recycling comparison website who offer visitors the chance to sell in their old mobile phones for the best prices by comparing the leading UK mobile phone recyclers. They compare nearly 5,000 different mobile phones and over a staggering 31,000 prices on the site, guaranteeing the best price possible.

How Can SellMyMobile.com Help?

There are a plethora of mobile phone buyers on the Internet now, after many companies have saw the potential in giving customers cash as well as helping the environment. Each of the phone buyers all offer different prices for old mobile phones, so for one handset you could get as much as 27 different prices with huge differences in prices between the highest paying company and the lowest paying company. Not every company will offer you the same, so for example on company could offer you a lower price but they will offer free postage and a free postage bag (saving you money on P&P) where as the higher price may not offer these benefits. So all in all, the lower price may be the best one to go for in this circumstance.

Why Is Recycling Important?

Mobile phone technology is a fast growing concept which is sweeping the world we live in, and due to the fast rate of new phones hitting the markets, old phones are piling up by the day and being left unused. Leaving mobile phones unused can seriously damage the environment as they release toxins, so mobile phone recycling is a great way to prevent this from happening.

So What Happens To These Old Phones?

Old phones are refurbished and shipped to developing countries and reused

Refurbished phones are re-sold, giving them a new life and reducing the need for the manufacture of new phones which benefits the environment

Old phones are used to make new ones – benefitting the environment by eliminating the need for new parts manufacture.

EVO? Not for me.

I gave the EVO a chance. I really did. I thought I would get a taste for Android after playing with my friend's Droid for hours one day. I thought I had found the phone to beat the iPhone. And after buying the Android device, I woke up and realized there is nothing that can beat the iPhone to this day. Here is my story.

I slammed $200 for the EVO and a new account with Sprint. Mistake #1: Getting on the Sprint network. I live in Kansas City, where their World Headquarters are, and within minutes I was getting dropped calls left and right. It may be just me, but you would think if your headquarters is here, your service would be second to none. Instead, it's dead last. I like the Android UI. I love it's marketplace. What I don't love, however, is the bloatware it comes with. These preinstalled apps from Sprint/Verizon/AT&T/T-Mobile. And they are not easily, if at all, removable.

The EVO's battery life is a joke, and it takes hours to recharge. I was told that using DoubleTwist would allow me to put my iTunes songs off my Mac to the device. I spent four hours waiting for it to sync up, and when it finally did, it had only put 54 of my 5000+ songs on to the device. The music interface is a joke on Android as well.

Needless to say, I suddenly had a strong craving for my iPhone back. So I boxed the EVO back up, cancelled my Sprint service, and got my money back. If you ever feel like your iPhone is getting boring (like I stated in my previous post), switch to Android. You'll snap out of it and will be craving your iPhone again in no time.

I currently have the 32GB iPhone 4 on pre-order. It's good to be back. (And yes, the Apple fanboy Kool-Aid is delicious.)

Microsoft releases official Windows Live Messenger app for iPod touch & iPhone

The Official WLM App now available in the Apple Store

If you have checked the App Store today you will have noticed Microsoft have entered with their official Windows Live Messenger application. There have been several unofficial applications such as eBuddy and Pidgin, to name a couple.

But will this really become a successful application? What's the point when you have all these others which can handle multiple Facebook, AIM and MSN accounts - all at the same time?

What do you think about the official application? Let me know in the comments.
