Goodbye Google Reader, Hello SNATZ

Google reader death 2013When Google Reader disappeared last July 2013, many of us were left scratching our heads and wondering “what now?”.

Filtering, Merging and Translating Feeds with Yahoo! Pipes

I am going to make a rather embarrassing admission to you right now: I only just learned about Yahoo! Pipes recently. Yes, I realize it has been around since 2007, making me so late for the party that I am lucky to have gotten in, at all. In view of that, it seems appropriate to present Liferea – a simple yet mighty RSS reader for Linux which can fill that Google-Reader-hole in your soul.

RIP Google Reader

Feedly for Android

Earlier this week I walked you through the process of migrating to Feedly from Google Reader.

It’s a remarkably simple process to migrate. You could say it’s as easy as 1, 2, 3. Install Feedly, click a button and grant permission for Feedly to access your Google Reader feeds and enjoy your reading. There’s nothing more to it.

While I’ve been making brilliant use of Feedly on my desktop I have to admit that I’ve still been using Google Reader on my tablet. Yesterday that changed and I made the jump to Feedly for Android.
