Gears of War 3 Officially Announced

Just like most video game announcements, they're not kept secret for very long and the announcement of the anticipated Gears of War 3 was no exception. Cliff Bleszinski, design director of Epic games, planned to announce the game on Jimmy Fallon the previous Thursday but got delayed to Monday of this week. Obviously Microsoft didn't hear about the announcement and unofficially announced the game on the 360 dashboard. Despite the leaked announcement Cliff Bleszinski still announced the game and revealed the new trailer named 'Ashes to Ashes'. The trailer doesn't show much, but does show female soldiers, which were not seen in the previous games. We expect to hear more about the game in the coming months and will probably expect to see gameplay at E3. Gears of War 3 is announced for April of 2011, with an estimated date of 8th of April.

An Ever-Changing Game

We all know Modern Warfare 2. We've all played and at some point enjoyed it. The truth is, however, that Modern Warfare 2 was NOT what everyone anticipated. Remember the javelin glitches? Sure, Infinity Ward fixed that, but look what came next! More and more glitches that could have been easily avoided if Infinity Ward had just released a beta! Obviously, the game isn't as glitched up as it used to be, but seriously, Infinity Ward could have made a really great game if they just were a little smarter.

Let's move on to the DLC. I'm not gonna lie, I bought the Stimulus Map Pack myself. Everyone complained about the price when it was first released; everyone said they wouldn't buy it. Guess what? People still did buy it! The only people that are being STIMULATED are Activision and Infinity Ward. I know I like to just rant about insignificant issues but hey, it's just the way I am.

My Christmas Wish List 2009

Hello everyone. My name is Alex. I am writing to you today about my Christmas Wish List for 2009. But, before I write anymore, lets clarify this is a WISH list. I personally know I am not going to get everything on this list. I have put my wish list into three different groups. The first group is Hardware, the second is Video Games, and the third is Others. I do not want to go over every thing on my list as I did in my video. I will be writing about one thing I'd like to have from each category.

Hardware: The one thing I'd like to have most in the hardware category is an Apple TV. In my mind the Apple TV is an underrated device. The Apple TV is capable of streaming your iTunes content wirelessly on your television. The device has built in wifi to connect to you home network without any cables or complications. You can also rent the latest released movies in HD on the Apple TV. The Apple TV can also stream your music, podcasts, and TV shows that you buy in iTunes. The device has a 160 GB hard drive and the device is available for $229 at an Apple store and the Apple Website

Video Games: The first video game I'd like to have is Call of Duty Modern WarFare 2 for the Xbox 360. I love first person shooting games. I also love Call of Duty games. I have played the game and seen gameplay videos around the web. The game looks over the top good. I can not wait to play this game online in Team Death Match, and Capture the Flag. The game also features many new kill streaks, the best one being an entire nuke of the map, killing everyone in the game.

Others: The one thing I'd like to have from my others category is the Apple Magic Mouse. I have demoed the mouse at my local Apple store. I was very impressed with the multi touch features. This mouse has changed my perspective on mice. The Magic Mouse has made browsing applications on OS X Snow Leopard a better experience than the outgoing Mighty Mouse (now just called the Apple Mouse due to a copyright law suit.)

Thank you for reading! Hope you enjoyed and got some ideas for your wish list for 2009. Happy Holidays to everyone, whatever holiday you will be celebrating.

Microsoft Retail Store - 10/22/09

Thursday, October 22, 2009... The day Microsoft released their brand new retail store. Now I'm sure many of you have heard about this already, or seen short videos on it; but I have decided to let those of you who haven't heard. Well, Microsoft's retail store is currently located in two locations at the moment, Scottsdale, Arizona and Viejo, California. They are planning on making more locations in the future. The store contains Windows 7 products, Microsoft Mobile Phones, Zune Media Players, Xbox 360 and 'cloud' email and storage services for consumers. The store also includes a 'answer bar' were you can ask anyone of the Microsoft Retail Workers your questions and they will answer them. Another cool feature about this store is that the workers are dressed in different colored shirts based upon what product they are working with, i.e. Green for Xbox, Red for Zune, Blue for Windows 7 and so on so forth. On the opening date the stores were crowded with folks eager to find out what Microsoft has done.

In my own opinion, Microsoft has done an excellent job with the store and setting up different stations with different products for customers to review. I'm sure this will help them a lot. The store is very spacious. The former real estate chief for Apple (George Blankenship) was hired to consult on location and placement of the stores. As everyone eagerly rushed into the store to try out and look at all the Microsoft products, staff was very proud to say, "this is the new Microsoft Retail Store"
